I think the Rules are our biggest crutch.
We must unlearn what we have learnt. Once we head down the path of the Rules Lawyer forever will it dominate our destiny.

But... But the rules though... All that hard work you put in answering the most obscure rules questions...
Exactly.
The Path of the Rules Lawyer is STRONG........
So are dice and range rulers. Join my pledge to play without them for 10 games, I know we can do it!
Difficult but possible! I suppose we could use another RNG for the dice like the ffg app? Or does that count as a crutch too?
Anything that 100% of the players use in a game of Armada is a crutch. Absolutely overpowered. You don't even think about whether to include dice, a range ruler, or a maneuver tool in your games, do you? It's making us all weak as a player base and we need to move past this and up our game!
Agree manuever tool is a crutch. I've always preferred pogo sticks to crutches anyway, so I long ago swapped over to a deluxe custom man tool. Really gets the pickle moving, no engine techs required. Usually I fill that slot with projection experts, because you always want to have protection.

Fairly sure, like Beatty, you dont understand the term crutch.
Ah but can you stack them up during the setup? ![]()

I mean how exactly does General Rieekan keep those near-dead ships and aces alive? Is he giving them crutches? That would make so much sense!
Nah...clearly anything that beats me is crutch. And i'll head off your knee jerk responses! This means every card is crutch bar Cluster Bomber, because nobody has run that ever...

Just think of how powerful the Jedi would be if they learned how to fight properly, without using the force!
Edited by FlenginCrutches are useful tools that have a critical role in increasing the mobility of people recovering from an injury and people coping with a lifelong impairment.
Crutches are awesome. Demolisher is awesome, but not as awesome as crutches. Therefore, Demolisher should be buffed.
Fun story: Years ago in my early days of X-wing, Kelvan declared me his "online nemesis." We were both attending Worlds that year, and his "in-person" nemesis was coming as well. I said something along the lines of "if we are all going to Worlds then I will be in-person as well. Is there some sort of nemesis resolution protocol, or do we just battle to the death with handfuls of uncooked spaghetti?"
A month or so later we were at the FFG Center. I looked at the in-person nemesis and pulled a package of spaghetti out of my bag.
You know what. . . Ships are a crutch!
I will take one for the team and take those ships off your hands for free off.
Throw it all in the trash, it's all crutches. Get all your s***, get it together, all your s*** in a pile or something, get it all together, and burn it.
