Stop it already!

By Darth Lupine, in Star Wars: Armada

Rhymer is a crutch, play without Demolisher, Bwings are OP, Gallant Heaven is unbeatable......seriously.

There is NO SUCH THING AS A CRUTCH.

Everything in this game is simply a tool, to be used to its maximum efficacy so as to blow your opponents plastic ships. Yes, some are used more than others. But I have yet to see something so overwhelmingly OP (talking about current state, not wave 1) that it cannot be countered by proper planning and admiralty.

If your rear end hurts because someone spanked it hard with some crazy combo, quit whining about it being 'OP'. Put on your big boy pants and develop a strategy to counter it.

Admiral Wolf out.

Sure they are all tools.

Lets use old people as an example. If the old person is so use to using a tool and never tries the new tools out, how can they say if the new tools are good or bad? How can the old person ever know?

Look at X-Wing. Many Imperial players said the Phantom was not a Crutch and that FFG shouldn't change it. But after FFG looked at the tournament results they decided the Phantom was too powerful and they outright Nerfed the Hell out of it. FFG watches the Tournament Scene to gauge the power levels of their Products and if something is too powerful they will either make a counter or just nerf it. They've done it before and they will do it again if needed but posts like our's has no sway in their decision, it's the actual tournament results.

So if they are not a Crutch don't worry about it. But if you use them every time and they turn out to be too powerful and they get Nerfed don't complain then. FFG is not afraid of the Nerf Bat but they only use it when the Actual game results prove they need to be changed.

And if you use them every time I feel sad for your lack of experimentation and then I would say you are using them as a Crutch. If you play a lot of lists without them then don't worry about it at all. FFG is good about balancing their games, and they will continue to do so.

And you are the one sounding like you have a major Butt Hurt here, you are ranting while the other posts were made with sound logic and even tones.

Maybe we're tools......

I'm definitely a tool. But whose...?

I have a man tool...

I have a man tool...

I really appreciate you working so hard to make our man tools work so much faster now!

they've made a counter to rhymer: e-wings. does he make bombing runs easier? mostly. is that a problem? no

FoaS, please stop changing you avi, it makes you hard to recognize.

Unless, of course, you want to be unrecognizable:D

I'll be sticking with this one. i saw too many samurai and i don't trust that the tau will stick around.

so the forum just jumped the shark...

[insert blame on lack of faq or articles]

We all have the forum equivalent of cabin fever

Lol, this went downhill quick......hehehe

You miss my point. I never said not to try the new tools. I said quit complaining about people using the old ones.... or something to that effect, I think. I need more coffee.....

One time I thought two MC80 (Assault and Command) + loads of X-wings was the ulitmate list, in the first game it was, in the second and later games it was not so stellar, so I gave up the notion having two MC80 H1 in a list.

Then I got pumled by another guy repeatetly, who guees what, used two MC80 H1 a CR90 and a few sqd in his list.

Conclusion: he knew how to use his tools, I was a tool with my tools :)

I both agree and disagree with you Darth Lupine. I disagree with you when you say they are not crutches. Any card that you HAVE to use is a crutch because you are depending on it too much. However, I do agree with you that complaining does no good. If people are complaining about the cards, it is probably because they are GOOD. So why waste time complaining about them, when we could discuss how to overcome them?

Because there's about 50 pages of discussion for just that, and still, it continues?

I'm extremely skeptical of how low that figure is, even for Rhymer or Demolisher individually.

Honestly? I didn't feel like actually tallying them up... I might come across as a bit of a pedantic arse if I did that :D

Sorry this is all I could think of when you said stop it.

I wouldn't/won't do it either, but that's because I'm lazy. I am pedantic, and I definitely only care the teensiest bit what the denizens of the Internet, including this forum, think of me. I won't be rude, but that's the extent of my offer.

Makes sense.

I'm an Arse.

Just only a pedantic one in the Rules SubForum.

The more I hear "Dont use the Demolisher or Rhymer" the more I want to use them.. So my new challenge is to find out how many different builds I can add both of these hated cards into
