So, I decided to actually play empire for once and toyed around with some lists. This is a slightly upgraded variant of a list that I made for funsies:
Interdictor Intercept Force
Author: PwnerTrainee
Faction: Imperial Navy
Points: 393/400
Commander: Admiral Ozzel
Assault Objective: Precision Strike
Defense Objective: Fleet Ambush
Navigation Objective: Minefields
[ flagship ] Interdictor Suppression Refit (90 points)
- Admiral Ozzel ( 20 points)
- Interdictor ( 3 points)
- G-8 Experimental Projectors ( 8 points)
- Targeting Scrambler ( 5 points)
- Overload Pulse ( 8 points)
- Phylon Q7 Tractor Beams ( 6 points)
= 140 total ship cost
Gladiator 1 (56 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Assault Concussion Missiles ( 7 points)
= 67 total ship cost
Gladiator 1 (56 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Assault Concussion Missiles ( 7 points)
= 67 total ship cost
Raider 1 (44 points)
- Assault Proton Torpedoes ( 5 points)
= 49 total ship cost
Raider 1 (44 points)
- Assault Proton Torpedoes ( 5 points)
= 49 total ship cost
IG-88 (21 Points)
The Main strategy for this list is have the gladiators stay close to the interdictor for protection as the interdictor brings targets to a halt. Raiders guard the flanks and rush ahead to get behind the target or go after targets of opportunity if they present themselves. IG-88 holds off fighters if it can, and is supported by raiders for more squadron heavy lists. Ozzel allows the fleet to rush in and then come to a near stop to really hammer on targets and then run away after.
I've used a slight variant on this list before to pretty good effect, I lost the last round cause I accidentally played interstellar bumper cars with my interdictor and last raider on opening salvo.
What do you guys think of this list?
