Additional Fortune Points

By mac40k, in WFRP Rules Questions

I'm trying to figure out why there is a space on the character sheet to write down fortune points if every character starts every session with 3 and there is no way in the rules to increase that number. Seems like that's more of a holdover from an earlier version where maybe the different races started out with different amounts. Unless they are introducing rules in a later expansion that allow this number to change, or new races that have a different starting number (maybe Halflings have 4?), I don't see the need for this spot on the sheet. As small as the sheets are, I don't need space taken up by useless data. Granted it's not a lot of space, but I would have rather seen the Basic Skills in a slightly larger font that took up the space where Fortune is now.

Have I missed something in the rules?

fwiw, that's where my players place their fortune tokens during play.

Yeah, we do that too since the space is there, but you could just as easily keep the tokens anywhere in the player area. There's not a space for Wizards or Priests to keep Power/Favor tokens. I realize most characters don't need a space for those, but the point is that the box is blank and you have to hand write in the 3. Even if they felt that it needed to be on the character sheet, why not just print it on there? Why make it a write in box?
