its sad that its not possible anymore to produce something like that in the US. We are not talking about painted plastic minis and plastic components. Cardboard stuff, cards, even a die, is that really so much more costly at FFGs best effort that Armada players wouldnt buy it? I really would love to see the price of a US or Europe produced CC expansion.
The actual issue here is the shipping is my guess. What confused me and I just haven't researched enough yet on it, is how does one of the world's largest shipping companies go bankrupt and how do you not see that coming as the parent company ahead of time.

Oh I'm very sure it's possible to make those products Stateside. The bad news is the price would likely double. Unfortunately their labor rate is solo, you could possibly offset the freight cost.

Probably the same way the housing market crashed and almost nobody figured it was going to happen. A lot of shady people in charge of multi-billion-dollar companies.
The Meeple mag I looked at yesterday announced wav 5 and the Correlian campaign for November. Take that as you will.
One might also consider that they don't want to drop the Corellian Campaign with something like only one week to practice with it before Worlds...
If we are talking about balance and stability for the Organized Play side of things, one might, in fact, expect a November release where they have it on sale for the first time at Worlds itself.

It should however be noted that Hanjin apparently have raised the money to offload their vessels, meaning that if FFG has cargo stuck on one or more vessels they should be able to move it soon.
