Deathfire and proximity mines is cool

Ran a list in a casual match with two defenders (Ryad /d and Stele /7) and deathfire w/extra munitions and proximity mines. His ability is pretty sweet. It helped that my opponent was more concerned with Ryad, so Deathfire got close enough to drop them.

Any other ideas for Deathfire? Clusters for swarms?

Most people go with Conner Nets because they're dependable in terms of the damage they do (you won't roll 3 blanks, and Palpatine can't be used against them). The action denial also is good for taking out problem children, like Inquisitor or Soontir.

As long as you're running that type of ship along with extra munitions, you can also slot in Long Range Scanners then add Plasma Torps for 3 points, or Homing Missiles for 5 points, depending on your available list budget.

Will hopefully fly him today with a pair of xD Defenders. First list I tried with Deathfire though was:

Went great, he was able to Conner net Omega Leader twice in a row and essentially took him out, as the following round was Ryad unloading on him. He has great potentially. His ability is fantastic. I have thrown EU on him as well, and it was nice, but I think a proton torp would have been better use of points to double down on EM. He is definately gonna find a way into more of my lists. Wish bombers had two bomb slots though!!!!

I may have to throw on conner nets the next time I fly him.

Had alot of fun. A LRS bomber is crazy useful with Vessery. Between vess and fire I ioned one of the opponents ships 4 turns in a row (think it was a b-wing, probably Keyan Farlander). Needless to say the rest of his list was ripped apart in the meantime by ryad, primary from Vessery, and the humble unmodified primary shots from unsuspecting deathfire. Had a great time. Fire is really flexible and exceptionally cheap for the work he can put in.

So, played a game with Deathfire yesterday.

Maarek + Predator + Ion Cannon + xD

Vessery + Adapt + Tracor Beam + xD

Deathfire + EM + Conner Net + LRS

vs

Vader w/ Prockets

Inquisitor

I bring Deathfire straight up middle, Vess and Maarek flank on left. Inquisitor and OL coming down middle, vader flanking from right. Turn 3, Deathfire 4 straights in front of Omega Leader, b-rolls to the right and drops a conner at Vaders doorstep. Vess and Maarek bank in toward Vader. Vader 2 banks through conners (1 damage) and lands just out of range 1. Vess beams him, and pulls him into range 1, then fires primary. Four hits. Vader rolls his TWO naked greens thanks to beam and Vader is dead. Inquisitor and OL shoot Deathfire dead that round (OL got a direct hit :( ) so he didnt get to use his other conner net and was in a great position just drop it down on Inquisitor and bolt.

Deathfire is crazy powerful. I didnt even realize the other part of his ability that lets him drop mines before his dial revealed, just like bombs. So essentially he can move, b-roll, drop a net, get someone. Then before he moves the following turn, he can net them again. 23pts is a **** bargain.
