5 Lightsabers. Because there has to be a cool way one of my players can use the lightsabers they keep crafting...

I can picture it now... 2 hidden by a Smuggler's Trenchcoat, one in a Cybernetic Cavity, 2 already in hand... Each time the player attacks, they then move to another facing of the target's body and attack again, culminating in an epic jump into the air, swinging the saber down for the finish... I call it... Omnisla---

Ok maybe I was just thinking of FF7...

You know the kind of characters and games I like! Mystics, with deep, introspective character arcs and focusing less on combat and more on personal development and emotional vulnerability. Not that being a kick-ass magical warrior isn't great at times, too, but you need somewhere to GO with it, you know?

Start up a PbP with that as the focus (and have the ability to follow through), and I might very well consider it! Heck, read my story on my DeviantArt and offer some actual constructive criticism, as I'm preparing to novel-ize it, and then start said PbP, and I will guarantee that I'll join!

My problem is PbP is so slow I lose interest. I play by roll 20 But A game with a good mix of mystery and action and character developement would be awesome...

What is roll20? I've heard of it a lot, but I've never actually checked in on it...

Although that's a bit more off-topic than is typical even for me, so maybe we should take it elsewhere, huh?

Something else to consider with weapon load outs and UD. So if you do the Boondock Saints thing and carry a buncha pistols, realistically you will only ever use the extra guns when you pop the SA. Grenades however are both lighter, and you might need them prior, or have some left after, and be able to use them, whereas lotsa pistols are likely just weight before and after the SA.

5 X-30 Lancers to get that Accurate 1 on every attack and Pierce 2. Easily modified to get Accurate 2.

Actually, aren't most blasters only 1-2 Encumbrance, which is basically the same as a bunch of grenades? Sure the Heavy blasters are heavier, as the name implies but you can get some good mileage off of non-heavies too.

EDIT Also, it's better than carrying around a ton of ammo packs. Run out? drop it, grab another blaster.

Ooh, that's a very good point, Mr. Pirate. With guns, you're only really gonna be using your two favorites most of the time, so why carry around five others just for the once-a-week time when you can use five in rapid succession? Carrying all that extra weight and inconvenience is, well...inconvenient!

But grenades - you can use grenades anytime, and you will almost always want to have several with you!

Yah, but you still gotta be successful on those blaster shots and penetrate. Just need the Advantages for a grenade's Blast effect, and lotsa grenades have weapon effects that are far more helpful than a single blaster shot. The 4 grenades might all hit the baddie, and all his goons, all 4 times.....

5 grenades! I'd live dangerously and make them Thermal Detonators though. Why blow them up when you can disintegrate them?

Now I am imagining them being hit with 5 glop grenades...and each time have the blast go off....so how big of a mess would that be? How big of an area is now difficult terrain?

It amazes (and saddens) me that peoples first thought on Unmatched Devastation is "Oooh, I'll get 5 identical blaster pistols and take turns using them".

It's so incredibly boring and unimaginative.

My first thought when I heard about it was "ok, I'll have to have a carbine, a hold-out, wrist mounted rocket launcher, wrist mounted dart launcher and a wrist mounted flamethrower" (and more!).

But nooooo... "I'll have five identical pistols that I'll use in rotation".
Yeah... great fun there... and it really solidifies the thought behind the rule.

I like the Jackie Chan idea of improvised weapons and dipping into Recruit for Creative Killer and laying out a cantina with drink cups and mops.....
