No Distintegrations

By Kyla, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

The art for the Weequay female (Operator?) looks great. I especially like that her braids look like pigtails.

That is a Clawdite.
Sure, it could be , but if it is then it's a Clawdite impersonating a Weequay. Notice the rows of bony spikes on her jawlines along with skin and eye colors uncharacteristic for a Clawdite in the natural form.

All the people in the art are Clawdites.

All the people in all the art, everywhere, are Clawdites. There are only Clawdites.

And “No Disintegrations” shows as being “On the Boat”, with “Last Update” of 11/30/2016?!?

I guess we shouldn't feel bad, some stuff has been on the boat for about a month longer! My biggest complaint is that it's holding up all my IA Hutt boxes!

I am so gonna make a character based on Jake Gittes in China Town.

This whole p.i./skip tracer thing is one of my favorite tropes...

The dark room with a single lamp burning on the desk, an open bottle of Bourbon, a damsel in distress walking in wearing a black hat with netting on it... Yeah, I am starting a SW Noir campaign!!!

Star Noirs. Sounds legit.

If you ever watch The Clone Wars cartoon, there's an episode that begins with Cad Bane talking to the mysterious Darth Sidious in a dimly lit room. To me, that scene came off as very noir-sy. Star Wars is what you make of it. It doesn't have to be sci-fi pulp. It can be horror. It can be noir. It can be space opera. It can be whatever you like.

I'm suprised no one has commented on Iron skin and how cheap it is for its effectiveness.

I swear that this boat is going around in circles instead of coming to port.

This may indeed be the first true "Boating Accident," as I call them, since I started talking data. If we don't see a change tomorrow, then it's official. Unfortunately.

AND it means I'll have to move back my prediction AGAIN. Grrr...

I went to order from the store and it said they were doing inventory till the 9th. Dunno if it's an issue but worth noting.

I am glad that oggy is alive and well. Yay!

What I'm surprised about is that no one has remarked on the likely return of the Coordination Dodge talent.

The newest article mentions that Martial Artists have ways to use their ranks in Coordination for offense and defense. The most obvious thing for that is then having the Coordination Dodge talent, and perhaps something similar for offense.

That's exciting, because I find Coordination to be one of those skills that normally is out of place and I have to especially look for a reason to call for a player to use it.

Coordination is a great skill that's criminally underused because most groups overuse athletics as the catch all skill.

Landing safely after leaping off a platform that's about to be strafed by enemy fire? Coordination.

Rocks above begin falling and you have to get out of the way? Coordination.

Slipping free of binders? Coordination.

Successfully navigating a tight, twisty air duct? Coordination.

All sorts of things can use it.

EDIT: Tone is nearly impossible to gauge online. I realized the way I structured my comment could come off as condescending and that wasn't my intention.

Everyone is aware, that the boat needs to travel, wait it´s turn to dock, that all containers need to be deload, and then all the containers need to be deload as well, that´s alot of stuff.

Thanks, sonovabith. (that seems sarcastic as well just to say your username!)

I appreciate the scenarios in which one could call for coordination checks. It helps a lot. I need to call for it more often.

Coordination is one of my favorite skills! In fact, it was used in the very first encounter of my campaign.

In the dusty street of Nar Shadaa a young street urchin (our Twi'lek Sentinel PC) stoke the blaster belt of our captain and dashed away with it. The encounter was a chase, and participants could roll Athletics with several setbacks to bull through the crowd (because the streets are crowded so it's hard to use your athleticism to full extent), Coordination with fewer setbacks to weave through the crowd, and the Sentinel, who lived in that area and knew it well, was able to use Streetwise to use her local knowledge and familiarity with these streets and their rhythms.

The captain opted for Coordination, the Sentinel, obviously, went with Streetwise. The captains wookiee Seeker friend, however, just roared to clear a path, and bull rushed through everyone stupid enough to not get out of his way. Combined with his Enhance, he caught the little thief quite quickly :) .

Coordination is also the skill for use in spacewalks/personal maneuvering in microgravity conditions.

The boat...

I like to imagine that a group of intense fans who couldn't wait any longer for the final EOTE career book's release decided to band together, steal a boat of their own, and go full on pirate. They encountered the fabled transport ship, the "FFG Gamer Bait" mid journey. With no witnesses beyond the crew itself, only the open water heard their screams as they were overpowered and forced to open all the crates, delivering their precious booty to the blood thirsty RPG enthusiasts... before being summarily forced to walk the plank. The victors enjoy their spoils running campaigns in the salty air on the deck of their stolen vessel.

...which is fine and good for them, but where does that leave the rest of us???

Simple, we hire a team of bounty hunters, at least one being a skip tracer, to find them and "convince" them to share the spoils.

On a completely unrelated note, would any of you happen to be in the market for some copies of No Disintegration? Only slightly bloodstained water damaged. If you promise not to ask where I got them, I promise not to tell you any lies.

Depends if this is the D6 version of the book or the FFG version.

Be careful with posts like that. You wouldn’t want to jinx the shipment, or anything. :(

"Captain's log,

"We hit a storm yesterday evening, started taking heavy water. Had to loose some cargo, otherwise we'd start sinking. Decided to toss those crates with the books in them--Star Wars something or other. I'm sure they weren't important."

Nah. They were about to be boarded by customs, and had to jettison their cargo.

Nah. They were about to be boarded by customs, and had to jettison their cargo.

Because customs had heard rumors of piratical activities in the area, and was investigating. Any ...slightly damaged cargo might have aroused suspicion. Especially when it's several thousand copies of the same book.
