Ketsu Onyo ability on a friendly?

By PLR, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hey Everyone,

Is it possible for Ketsu to use her pilot ability on a friendly ship that meets the criteria?
Her card simply states "a ship"... can't seem to find anything that would not allow it...

Obviously you take the -1 agility for the Tractor beam token but a straight boost or barrel roll can actually be worth the penalty in the right situation.

The flaw with that plan is that the opponent gets to choose the boost or barrel roll, or neither, thus leaving the target ship in the same spot and with -1 Agility.

Still a flawed plan. :)

Oh yeah of course.

Never have I wanted a card errata more than the one to the TB ref card which would change the person who chooses the movement from the opponent of the ship, to the player who assigned the token.

**** I was just about to ask this same question and never thought about the wording on the tractor beam that the opposing player picks the barrel roll direction. Wonder if they will FAQ it and say the player that assigns the token makes the decision. I guess you could argue I'm the opposing player assigning the token now which is obviously why they felt the need to spell it out for clarification in the first place that the person shooting the tractor beam gets to decide. But the way it is currently read straight from the cards I guess it doesn't work that way....yet

They didn't state that the person shooting gets to decide. It's simply " The first time a small ship receives a tractor beam token each round, the opposing player may choose one of the following effects:... "

If you assign a Tractor Beam token to any ship then the opposing player chooses. If you assign a token to one of your ships, the opposing player chooses. Simple as that.

No. When a small ship receives a tractor beam token the opposing player chooses. There's a subtle difference in the wording but it's quite clear; the attacking player may choose the boost/barrel roll.

And to get back to the OP's question; if he were to assign a token to his own ship then his opponent would have the choice going by the wording of the card.

Which is exactly what's already been stated. <_<

Then can you please assign a confused token to me, and a stress token too while you're at it.....
