Nope. He adds it to any attack pool.
He doesn't add it during the Gather Dice Step, though, so if you don't have any red dice he won't give you long range shots, but if you have an attack, he'll add the red dice, regardless of what other dice are in your battery armament.
Edit: you absolute scrub, you.
Is there room for new flotillas?
...... Look up for quote. .....
At some point there is a cross over, where you just don't care to shoot that a Flotilla as a priority rather than a ship. For me that is 5 points, for other folks 40+.
I also think wave 5 is going to a massive shakeup to MSU fleets everywhere.

Oops! *goes to hide in the scrub corner*
Thanks for the answer though ![]()
Hmmm, I wonder about that Amanal. I had the exact same thought, but I got to thinking about it: we've always said that it was a matter of a flotilla being significantly cheaper, but what if we're talking about a Dornean Braha'tok gunship? Would Ackbar be so bad if they had, say, a black or blue side dice for 30-35 points in a combat flotilla, instead of just the paltry 24 of an armed GR75? Not saying anything is 'correct' or not, I'm just wondering what out limit for Ackbar is.
I guess it is like all the commanders, Screed is great if you have black dice, Konstantine needs 2+ large baases, Motti is not as nice on a fleet of Flotillas and so on. So perhaps the argument is Ackbar costs what Ackbar costs as the opportunity costs of not taking any of the others. At 33 points 8 of them + Ackbar could be frightful?
I have to challenge this. Screed likes black dice because to crit on black means adding at least one damage over the best possible other result, but he also shines in fleets using crit-effect weapons (which outside the Ordnance ones I will admit are rarely fielded). Also, Konstantine works or medium OR large bases. That's why some see him as the salvation of the Victory from irrelevance.

The Victory's salvation is Moff Jerjerrod in the Arquitens box in Wave 5.
In a 400 point game there is not room for what there is out to play with. ![]()
In a 400 point game there is not room for what there is out to play with.
That's why in my last match, we had a 900 point game. Gotta play with all the toys every now and then ![]()
