Interdictor title, only useful if Interdictor activates after other ships?

By whiskeytango, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Maybe I'm just an idiot, but I'm having trouble finding a situation where Interdictor would be useful if you activated your Interdictor first. Can anyone present a situation where it would be? Seems like it's only use would be to get shot at, exhaust a defense upgrade of some sort, activate, and ready the defense again? Which I suppose would also make it fairly useless if it was the last ship to activate in a round.

The title is mainly meant for the experimental upgrades, such as Targeting Scramblers or G8s.

ah, i'm reading it all wrong. Its not just when you activate... i'm an idiot.

For the most part, its Targeting Scrambler. It can be exhausted at any time, not just when the Interdictor itself is activating...

In fact, you can use a Targeting Scramber, have someone else activate, Refresh Targeting Scramber, and use it again before even activating the Interdictor in the first place!

Or, y'know, Interdictor can activate first, do whatever the hell it wants... Then when the enemy shoots against it (or someone else), it uses the Scramblers...

Then when another ship, (Friendly or Enemy) activates... It Refreshes the Scrambler, just in case it needs to use it again for itself or its enemy...

this is a one combo title.

it is perfect for use with Scramblers but not much use with anything else.

I would use it only with the combat refit, don't help must with suppression refit.

That;s a little disingenious...

If all you care about is that combo, then it works just as well on the Suppression Refit as it does for the Combat Refit - by virtue of the fact that its 3 points cheaper, if you're not equipping other upgrades...

Useful with G8's, too.

Also, I can't imagine what difference you think the ship's version makes on this combo...

Also specifically useful with Commandant Arusko, who is otherwise a worse Wulff Yularen most of the time. When you can use him twice in a turn things get more interesting, however...

Interdictor Suppression Refit with:

Inteditctor title

Aresko

G8s

Targeting Scramblers

Max flexibility. And it's not such a bad setup anyway.

its just my opinion that if your going to use the suppression refit then you are normal again in my opinion going to use the 2 heavy hitters for control fleets

-G7-X Grav Well Projector
-G-8 Experiemental Projector

just seems like what the suppression refit is for.

where the combat refit seem to be setup for

-Targeting Scrambler

We were discussing the merits of the Interdictor title.

And no, I don't agree that the suppression refit necessarily has to take G7 and/or Grav Shift.

I think the Suppression Refit works crazy well with G8, and Targeting Scramblers.

It gives you an option for what you want Interdictor to ready, adding flexibility.

I mean, here's the thing...

I want a Targeting Scrambler. That is my main goal.

I can take a Combat Refit with a Targeting Scrambler, and no other upgrades, for 97 Points.

or

I can take a Suppression Refit with a Targeting Scralmber, and no other upgrades, for 94 points.

Then its simply down to the merits of Red->Blue Exchange vs 3 Points.

*Personally, given that fact, I'd realise that the G7-X is 2 Points, and take a Suppression with both Targeting Scrambler and G7-X... But that leaves me with only 1 point cheaper.

The point being made is, if you're not using the Upgrade Slots, then the availability of said slots are useless to you... So what is your priority? One Fickle Red Die in 3 arcs in lieu of a reliable, reliable blue.... Or 3 points to spend elsewhere? :D
