I think it turned out well, regardless of the base.

So does the kit already come color matched to the stock ffg isd2 color??
No I'm sorry to say it doesn't but my friend Steve did a nice job coming close to the color of the FFG ISD.
But I have to say that the quality of the pieces is the same quality(as far as I can tell)as the FFG ISD.
Looks pretty good. Although it makes you wonder why the Empire had the massive communications array on the bridge, seems like a big venerability.

The newcanon calls it a Tractor Beam Targeting Array.
Would greatly appreciate a side by side comparison pic of this isd I and the stock ffg isd... especially a straight on pic... looks pretty sweet!!!

Saddly, no. But there are various quick fixes for VSD antenna.
Easy: buy a small battleship model, to cannibalize. (Do b e it, it broke too.)
Moderate: collect plastic bits, and find a viable replacement. (Found one mechanical pencil part that fit perfectly. Still there)
Hard: clip and glue various pieces of wire to make your own replacement parts. (Haven't tried it, but should be more durable at least)
Oh, and super easy: Acceptance of broken antennas as a normal state for VSDs move on. (I have reached this stage... Finally.)

Wouldn't this be a product for Mel? I dislike the idea to use anything. I want to use VSD antennas that look like VDS antennas.

The bigger, more apparent turrets really do look great!
I think the overall larger command tower makes the ISD look more threatening.
I must say that the edges and details on the tower very slightly don't match the original (this is due to 3D printing and unavoidable) but it really sticks out for me. I wonder if there is a way to mitigate that after printing?

I think that wasn't to do with 3D printing - it was a deliberate attempt to emulate the appearance of the ANH ISD as much as possible. The edges and details on the ANH tower are different from those on the TESB one - they're copying those differences.

Nah i mean the quality of the edges. You just can't get the same type of edges in 3D printed objects except with some very high end gear.
