Next ship : Spoil or Fake?

By FrStark, in Star Wars: Armada

Hello guys.

I've just found out a link to a deutch article, dealing with the development of a new ship for SW Armada. I do NOT know if it's a spoiler or a fake.

If you can tra

Here is the link to the article, including 2 pictures of the Resurgent ship.

I say Fake.

Wrong production Method for FFG Prototypes.

No way would they put a nasty seam split across the dorsal bow - that would be a single piece that fits into the lower main hull like it does on the Imperial Star Destroyer...

..

and Tooling marks for screws down the sides?

This reminds me very much of the Resurgent class BlueTooth speaker available at my local Shoppers Drug Mart.

Yeah, no way that's an FFG model. I've seen better tyranids constructed by a 12 year old.

I can't open the link at the moment, but I'm 99% certain that the next 2 ships are Rebels : Hammerhead, and Imperials : Quasar carrier.

So if it's not one of those two, it's PROBABLY not the next wave.

That's an unboxed version of a toy Resurgent that doubles as a playset, thus the huge and nasty seams running in several directions. I have no idea if FFG ever intends to incorporate the Resurgent class into Armada given its canonical bulk (its length is on the order of 2900 meters, almost double the Imperial class because [redacted] reason, I'm JJ Abrams), but if they do, this will not be it. Sorry for the lack of confirming link to a toy store, but I'm at work and doing this on my phone.

"Kyle Loren's flagship"

Ouch, my eyes!

As GiledPallaeon said It's the Micro-Machine one - you can see the hinges

What you are looking at is a Micro Machines star destroyer-

The reason why it might be listed with Armada is that it just so happens to be very close to Armada scale, and some people who have been impatient to get First Order and other Force Awakens ships into the game have purchased this set specifically to mod into an Armada ship.

This guy has been spamming links to his site around the internet all day. It's click bait, effectively. Please ignore him.

I see the Hammerhead as more of a flotilla than a small-class corvette. I'd prefer the Quasar as a Rebel design, but you're probably right.

"Kyle Loren's flagship"

Ouch, my eyes!

Moahahhahahahahaha...I call FAKE!

The article reads that he is spoiling HIS project for Armada. He is presenting himself as a modeller. In this article is no word that this is a spoiler of an official expansion of Armada.

So, no fake nor a spoil.

Title:

Call fake.

I am German... he says he is spoiling his current project. Which is trying to turn that ugly heap of plastic into something bearable...

I don't know enough German nor French to offer a full explanation. My French is terrible written, worse spoken, and my German is even worse.

I can say that this is not an Armada model.

This is a toy set for young children. The seam in the center of the model allows that section to open up and become an open scene for the toys, a theater jouet (I just know this translation is going to be awful, feel free to mock the stereotypical American).

It seems to be this model in particular, and I believe the star field in the background is the packaging:

Also, Kyle Loren. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains.

Well... I know a lot of you guys are waiting for that Star Destroyer type and I'm pretty sure Disney is gonna deliver :)

Without seams and unfoldable Theaterbühne :D

EDIT: urgs, just noticed he used a felt-tip pen to paint his Tie Fighters...

Folks. Seriously. Why did NONE of you post this:

Its-a-Fake.jpg

I am very disappointed in all of you.

Because it is no fake. A fake would involve the intention to mislead somebody.

I made my choice....

Is it really so hard to understand?

almost double the Imperial class because [redacted] reason, I'm JJ Abrams)

Right, because there was no history of having the same thing as before only bigger in Star Wars before Abrams' film...

This seems reasonable to me, though I'd like to be wrong - would LOVE a Resurgent class! Might require a new base though!

There certainly was. However, even the absurdity of the various Star Dreadnoughts, up to and including the Eclipse, could be passingly justified. The First Order on the other hand is an organization which it is implied to be in hiding, begging the question why in God's name they're building gigantic, apparently-technologically-advanced capital ships over twice the size of a ship known to cower entire planets with sheer force. (Also asks why they're building a superweapon IN a planet, but without that, there would be no plot ability to reset the entire Star Wars universe to roughly post-ANH.) Full disclosure, I am a Legends Loyalist and consider the new movies an Alternate Universe (AU vs the Expanded Universe "EU"), and will happily take potshots at a movie that rode nostalgia to its billions. The point of this thread isn't to discuss TFA though, it's to discuss what is apparently clickbait. If it is just a claim that he is modifying the set to fit into Armada (I can't read German), then it is not "fake" as in made up, but it definitely is not FFG's Wave 6.

I was referring purely to the original trilogy. The Death Star being the obvious example, then there's the Executor as well.

I never got the impression that the First Order was supposed to be "in hiding" - where'd you get that from?

The FO is hiding in the Unknown Region. I read this somewhere.
