ARCs and Fangs are one of those ships that i dont think are that great alone. Fangs i base that off observation since i dont play scum, but every list with a singular arc i can come up with feels lacking in some shape or form.

TIE/SF on the other hand i have the opposite issue. Two seems too expensive for what they bring, but one (specifically backdraft) adds a curveball to a lot of my lists that i am going to relish in abusing lol - yet of course my dumbass preordered 3 tie/sf before they were spoiled rofl.....i literally cannot come up with a 3sf list, theyre always way too cheap but not cheap enough to bring a 4th ship or too expensive for the third sf

Well, Wave 9 says 'Shipping Now' while the HotR is still 'On the Boat'. So to answer the OP I'd say no........

standard order for all new releases is whatever it takes to field a 100 point list of any ship. Usually 2 to 4 of each new ship.

This game is about the upgrade cards as well so it always helps to get lots of them to add to total gameplay. Love or hate it but thats the way X Wing works.

I think i buy one of everthing except for the Arc and the Protectorate Starfighter because i really like the look of those ships and because i play only casual i don't have a problem with using a card more than once.

Yup. HotR is probably about a whole month behind wave 9.

I really don't think you need more than 2 shadowcasters. Shadowport hunters cost 33, but they're probably worthless unmodified.

You can't fit four ARC-170s into 100 points, so don't get more than three.

TIE/SFs come as cheap as 23, so maybe buy four? I think those ships probably need lots of upgrades though...

Definitely buy 4 Protectorate Starfighters (the most that fit into 100 points)

Only buy at max two HotR. It comes with duplicates of all the good cards, and you won't need more than four of each.

I'm getting three and running: 3x Omega Specialisf with CS and Zeta Leader with CS.

So in terms of usefulness of upgrade cards and viability of multiple copy lists, it should be:

1 Tie/SF

1 Shadowcaster

2 Arc

4 Protectorate

2 Heroes?

Imo half a list of any 1 type of ship is the most you need when it 1st releases barring obsecene level upgrades. I held off buying my 3rd t70 and thats paying off now, hotr wont be just a paper release for me...

I'm holding off on Wave 9 for now, although the ARCs are tempting me. Since I just started and my procurement schedule is glacial; I've dedicated future purchase plans to HotR as far as new releases. In the meantime I am sort of in the market for MW and a HWK and/or Y if the price is right. Waiting for the LGS to put stuff on sale to make room for the new releases (hopefully)

The only uniques are the 2 crew, 2 titles and astromech. There are duplicates of the others. But what if I need multiple smuggling compartments or I need a snapshot swarm or something like that?

Really hoping I can pick up some extra Snuggling separately from one of the sellers who split packs, along with more Cargo Chutes & Debris from the Shadowcaster...I love freighters, but even I don't really want a fifth YT!

...but I have a feeling that lots of people will be looking to do the same, so not hopeful

Still a deciding factor for me, I hardly ever play Rebels. Pilot Rey sounds fun and a lot of the upgrades are nice. But I really don't one to own a second Falcon (There can be only one) So unless I get some great T-70 pilots I might give this one a pass.

I don't have an original Falcon, yet, but I'll be picking up both. I'll fly the new model as the Falcon and modify the old one as a different YT-1300. I'm really looking forward to this release.
