Best ship is very subjective. If FFG does their job right, there is no best ship. The better a ships stats and relative performance are, the more it costs. A ship is only good if it alignes to the strategy you are trying to employ.

indeed. the demolisher combines massive damage with enormous threat range.

to be honest though, its mostly the title. if I had a title that allowed my mc30s to "moveTHENshoot" and the title cost FOURTY POINTS, I would take it into serious consideration. idk if it would be worth 40 points, but the effect is so crazy strong for a black dice ship that it would be worth considering. for 10 points? preposterous.

threat range is the be-all end-all of all wargames ever produced, the one most powerful and important thing, and companies should be paranoid-careful when designing cards that increase threat range or effective threat range.

CR90A easily - because of the way it can be setup and the fact that you can fit a ton of them in a list, I mean the thing is like bacon.... and bacon is amazing.

Close runners up would be AFmkII and the ISD.

If upgrades don't count then we are unhinging ship value from mechanics placed in the cost of the ship. The access to certain cards drives the cost of ships.

I agree with you that Demo is a candidate. Heck, gladiators are a candidate just for the ability to take Demo. Good already, great with it.

Obviously the ISD II. More dice and more health (and more plastic) than anything else in the game.

This is a very subjective question and depends heavily on an individuals play style. I, for one, think that the VSD-I is the best ship in the game for me. It has good survivability, good firepower and can be adapted to the roles I want it to play. Combined with certain upgrade cards and a certain Admiral, 2 of them with support from squadrons and another ship, make for a very nasty list. Until recently, I have been running three of them.

On the flip side, I find the ISD disappointing for its cost in points, so, as I say, very subjective.
