Because why not.
Who is going to run their black and orange T-70 as a blue squadron novice?
I've already got one that I've painted black & orange. I'll run those two as Blue Squadron and then a grey T-70 as Poe.
I already have 4 T-70s and it will be five with Black One. So no point in using that for a "normal" one.
I already repainted two T-70s red as I was flying a list with two Red Squadron Veterans for a while... never did a Poe repaint but I might even though I plan on getting HotR. As it is I still have three stock/blue T-70s I don't use.
Why would I be flying Blue Squadron Novices? ![]()
I reckon I'm going to repost a Black and Orange as a repaint on reddit every couple of weeks with a new user name.
I will.
Why not repaint the Black and Orange from heroes as a blue and grey T-70?
Hur hur. We're so funny and clever. Hur hur.
I'm gunna attempt a reversal. I painted a Poe as soon as I got a T70 (let's be honest it's not a hard paint job) so I would have two but if I can get close to what the original looks like the new black and orange one is going white ish and blue.
Yme-loc approoved

But it has the new BB unit not a R2 why not just repaint the original

Ye-ahh... they think they are... don't they.

Because I reshaped the old one and put a lot of detail into bb8. It feels less painful to do the new one

That would make a really great April Fools video idea for my channel.... Oh you guys are so clover!
I will too. I have Poe, Red Ace and Blue Ace, so now I will just use two black T-70, might change the droid color and add some other touches to make it different though
I'm still on the fence about what to do with my T70s. I've got two in the factory scheme and HotR Poe will make three. I initially wanted to paint up Black Squadron, but the comics have all the ships except Poe's in the standard schemes (booooring). I may just paint them all up in Black and Orange anyway.
Does it make me scummy if I've done this before? I've done stuff like bring three Defenders, one being the red one, then putting a generic pilot in it in the hopes that my opponent will forget and assume it's a named pilot. I'm totally bringing the Black & Orange T-70 with Poe, but not actually putting Poe in it.

Because Blue Squadron Novice is terribly unplayable and I've got better things to do then spend 75 minutes giving my opponent a free win?

I've seen lots of other people do this too, like with Fel in a Red TIE Interceptor and Jax in the Bloodstripe one. It doesn't really give any advantage as it's pretty easy to remember who's where with a little mindfulness. I like when people do it, though, as it's just an easy way to figure out who the douches are, so you know who to avoid socializing with between rounds and whom should be denied all of their missed opportunities.
"Oh, whoops wait I forgot to put my Focus token down for..."
"DENIED. Maybe you shouldn't have intentionally switched your paint jobs around like an asshat, bro..."

Lots of people will actually be repainting their HotR Black & Orange T70 to more generic colors. Many players, like me, have already painted a Black and Orange Black One months ago, and I much prefer my repaint to the stock FFG paintjob (which is nice, for sure, but not quite as detailed) based on the model on display at Gencon. So I'd rather keep my Black & Orange which means I'll have to repaint the FFG Black and Orange to a more generic scheme.
I'm going to run my black and blue T-70s with my red T-65 in HotAC. I have a total of 3 standard X-Wing dials, so I can use those ships with the dials and it will work great.
I'd use it for Poe or anyone who is running the black one title, maybe someone running BB8. I like the ships to match the fluff like that, because I'm a nerd with OCD.

It no different then using IG's or Ties. I usually paint mine different, so I can tell them apart for my needs.
I intend on immediately selling/trading it away. I hate the color scheme and won't tolerate it within my squadron.
I hate hate hate it, but don't think it's bad. At least there's a design principle behind it. If you do a color inversion of the standard T70 (try it in photoshop) it'll come up in Poe colors.
