question about Intel, heavy and escort

By xero989, in Star Wars: Armada

So I was wondering if I have a squadron with intel that gives some other squadrons with escort heavy do I still have to attack the squadrons with escort even if they have heavy insted of attacking another squadron such as Jan?

Intel reads "while an enemy squadron is at distance 1 of you it has heavy"

Heavy reads "you do not prevent engaged squadrons from attacking ships or moving"

Escort reads "squadrons you are engaged with cannot attack squadrons that lack escort unless performing a counter attack."

to sum up my question is as heavy makes it so you can move and attack ships dose it prevent you from attacking a Jan with X-wings all around her if the X-wings have heavy?

Escort prevents you shooting jan if escorts are in range. If heavy then you have the opportunity to move to a position where you may avoid the escorts and shoot jan. However, players take multiple escorts to avoid this.

Ut was faq'd i believe.

No, even if heavy, you must still attack escort fighters if you are engaged with them. But intel allows you to move int an available position tobe engaged with only your desired target... If such a position exists.

Ninjaed again.

You can, however, still attack a ship instead of a squadron if an escort is heavy.

When you are Heavy, you are still engaged with other squadrons. It just means you can't prevent movement or ship attacks when engaged with enemy squadrons.
