New to the heroes

By Petrus81, in Imperial Assault Campaign

So I have run a campaign as the imperial player and now I bought all the expansions and is currently playing the core campaign as the heroes. I picked MHD-19, Gideon, Davinth and Biv as my heroes and the imperial player has the subversive tactics.

And I really feel I have no real fire power. When I was the Imperial player my stormtroopers got their face melted by Fenn's havoc shot and Gaarkahn. Davinth and Biv seem very weak in the damage dealing department.

Anyone who has experience with these heroes and how did you trick them out?

I see some issues with the hero setup (can be still fun to play, but Subversive Tactics is very tricky to play against).

1) There are two support characters (MHD-19 and Gideon)

2) There are two melee-focused characters (Biv and Davith)

Gideon is good because you don't need to spend credits to give him a new weapon.

Some things to take advantage of: MDH-19 pulls Adrenaline Stims and focuses Davith and Biv. Buy one good weapon first, get Masterstroke for Gideon first, then Mobile Tactician.

And ask if the imperial player could switch to some other class deck. :)

Between MHD-19's radiator and adrenaline stims and Gideon's ability to pull off strain, Subversive is pretty much a joke.

That party isn't easy to get damage out of. Biv does massive damage, but it's single target. Gideon's Masterstroke target will probably be Davith, so Davith needs to be set up for it. However, Davith isn't really great for damage, so you really need to work at it and probably want him using a cleave weapon. MHD-19 will probably want to go with his grenade option, which isn't ideal but it's what you've got.

Biv seem to be able to dish out some smackdown if he only could get a weapon that has som extra damage on it. Right now all he can do with surges is accuracy

I ended up never getting Biv a good gun so my choice was always shoot and probably not kill something, or close and personal and massively overkill it. I would cheer every time an enemy somehow managed to survive the vibrobayonet so I could finish it off with the ranged attack and get the strain back!

Well we only played Aftermath so far and another friend wants to join in but he wants to chose a hero himself so we are thinking about exchanging Davinth for Fenn since Davinth hasnt bought anything with credits or xp yet. Might work out.

You could also restart the campaign. Let your friend lead the first mission when he doesn't know what will happen and don't talk too much to not spoil him and it's good enough. .
