Earlier I talked about having hyperspace as in jump into another ones' playmat. Today played out and it went well.
Rules are played as epic.
There are two tables with playmat. Team with initive decides one player. Then the opponent, then team, then opponent and so on.
Asteroids are placed as epic. However range restrition is range 1 and not 2. (In epic asteroids in play and asteroids that will be play needs to have range 2 from each other. Read epic rules and FAQ for more clarification.)
Units are placed range 1-2.
You can escape battles by using a hyperspace action. Each ships that enters hyperspace (enter a ship to flee for ties) needs to hold on untill end phase. Then escape. They are not allowed to attack when using hyperspace action. Ships that don't enter hyperspace are dead and gone.
On next table, the one that escape place 2 stress for each ship that fled and place them at the table's end phase. The one that didn't, have to wait for 2nd end phases.
This mode was fast, easy to play and fun. You needed to make a lot of meaningful choises. Should I stay or should I go? If I go into hyperspace, who will make and who will not? And so on...
