New Player looking for 35pnt rebel suggestions

By Slowpoke89, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hello

One of the local gaming spots is having a 4 way battle on Sunday. Small ships only 35pnts max. 1 ship per person. I am thinking of going and trying to play but was looking for suggestions and what would be a good rebel ship to use and what cards to use.

I have basically every small ship plus the new core set.

I am leaning towards the K-wing but open to suggestions.

THANKS

Can always go Procket Jake.

or can try a TLT Sabine:

Sabine Wren (35)
Attack Shuttle (21), Twin Laser Turret (6), Kanan Jarrus (3), Push the Limit (3), Targeting Computer (2)

Miranda Doni with TLT is exactly 35 points and would be very effective.

Poe Dameron with R5-P9, Integrated Astromech and your choice of 1 point EPT should be good (Adrenaline Rush would be my tip but Cool Hand could work too).

Psycho Tycho is always a hoot.

A-Wing: · Tycho Celchu (26)

Push The Limit (3)

Proton Rockets (3)

Autothrusters (2)

A-Wing Test Pilot (0)

just a thought.... given the variety of aces possible... might be a good plan to use adaptibility and go 34pts. As you NEED to focus as often as possible, in some scenarios, moving first may be nice to avoid accidental bumps losing your action... since you will be trying to guess what 3 different people are planning not just one. Or you may be up against a batch that you feel you can push damage/strip tokens early (attack first) and make the others shoot at your target for the easy take down (you being harder to hit with your focus.

I love A-wings with PTL and wired, I have 3 different lists that have Green A's as blocker set-up at 25pt like this except Chardaan. supper hard to kill!!

I hope that they have banned Lone Wolf. If not, Luke Skywalker. Yes, from the core set in a T-65. With Lone Wolf and R2-D2, and integrated astromech if you have it. There is a bit of meta gaming here, the guy that brings Soontir gets a three against one. The guy that brings a T-65 gets ignored until last and nothing 35 points or less has firepower to kill regenerating Lonewolf Luke.

Edit: Just saw the date, I'm too late. Don't leave us hanging! How did it go?

Four way free-for-all? Lone Wolf not restricted? Here's an obscure one:

Ezra Bridger (20)
Lone Wolf (2)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Lando Calrissian (3)
Experimental Interface (3)
Total: 34
You essentially get the benefit of Ezra's pilot ability, Lone Wolf, and a PtL effect. Take an evade action each turn and then free-roll with Lando. Now you reroll blanks, convert eyeballs on the defense, and if Lando gives you any evade tokens, add it to the pile, while using any focus tokens he gives you on offense. Crazy action efficiency and a very limited blind spot
It's like the Luke listed above, except your dial is worse (thanks to Experimental Interface), but you shoot in way more directions (thanks to TLT), lose the ability to regenerate shields, and gain barrel roll and the ability to add evade tokens to your defensive arsenal.
It looks wonky, but it's legit.

Jek Porkins (26)
Wired (1)
R3-A2 (2)
Adv. Proton Torpedoes (6)

OK, so it's not really competitive for new players, and you'd need a Rebel Transport, but hey, you can't skin the Porkins.

[EDIT] - Throw Integrated Astromech on him too!

They had 16 players show up. I didnt play so as to keep the count even and just watch and took some pictures. I was wrong as it wasn't just small ships just 35 pnt max. If I am right a K-wing won the event. I took some pictures will have to see how I can upload them to here. I did learn some stuff at least.

Not to side track anything but everything Karhedron posts makes 100% sense to me and I thank him for that.

Anyway, as you were.

Luke is very good at 35 point levels. An x7 defender could be boss too. Fenn Rauu might do work if you can get hold of wave 9 by then.
