Yeah, I keep seeing that on the used shelf at one of my FLGS. I always have a moment where I think oh a Horus Heresy boardgame that sounds interesting and then the ludicrous size of the box registers and I remember buying that would be the worst idea I've ever had and I go back to playing X-Wing.

To be fair to them, they are under new direction/management now and the new guy seems to understand that there is this modern invention called "the internet". They seem much better at involving the player base in a positive way.

My last hope for them (from a personal PoV) is Epic/specialist games. I want my Titans back. Fingers crossed they don't screw it up!

I hate it when giant board games like this are 2 player only. At least Rebellion tries to make itself work for more players and has that break up phases differently. Still not enough to make me buy it, yet, but maybe some day.

The new CEO is doing a lot of things better than GW has done them in more than a decade. I'm not yet convinced that it's enough to keep the ship from sinking though.

As for epic, I suspect the initial release will sell like crazy, enough for them to at Keats bring out epic space marines and chaos, but that the non titan stuff won't sell nearly as well and we are unlikely to get any of the fun armies in small scale.

Gosh, you're right. People being absurdly bigoted is really just "trivial", and certainly not worth calling out in an honest attempt to correct their horrific behavior and attitudes and/or remove them like the cancer they are on what should be a respectable community.

Anyway, while GW continues to sink quietly into the abyss, I expect this opens the doors for a lot of potential new licenses for FFG to acquire, experiment with and develop.

With titles like X-Wing, DOOM, XCOM and more in it's catalogue, FFG has a storied history with computer games licenses, maybe this would be an exciting area to develop?

I mean, who wouldn't love to see what FFG could potentially do with licenses like Mass Effect, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Grand Theft Auto, Elite, Witcher...

I don't think "crap" drives business decisions as much as some people think. It's more likely, "We can't hit profitability margins with the license fee GW is insisting on."

But Returning on topic, GW are the local british Ferengi. Egoistical to the point of toppling, still able to spam everything with their fleets oversized boxes and uterly unable to evolve past the "we are cool because everyone around us isn't, because you know, we said so" attitude.

Hopefully 40k will topple just as WFB did (sorry, FB lovers, but that's a fact) and we'll see Age of teh EMPRAH. What will allow people who do have some brains and ability at game design to take matter into their hands and make us another 49th age.

I never expected it to. That's what the report option was used for, as I'm pretty sure that FFG is at least moderately interested in not having people spewing hateful bigoted comments on their forum.

The goal of addressing such insulting behavior directly and publicly is to educate. If people don't speak out against obvious bigotry, then some number will take it as tacit approval of such attitudes, and that is a completely unacceptable outcome.

Actually, what I am really hoping for is an FFG game in the vein of 40k, but based on the Twilight Imperium universe. It's an amazing world with a lot of potential, and with a good deal less misogyny. And no GW.

Okay, I think I see what you were trying to say- That the Ferengi seem at least partly based on an anti-semetic stereotype (similar accusations are made about Watto). But can you see how, unless people were familiar with the "Space Jew" trope*, they might not see it that way? Instead of getting glib or defensive, just explain what you mean nest time.
