Ello & Kyle (Input needed)

By DaveMitHut, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hey everyone!

First time poster here, not really new to the game but haven't played a big number of games yet, so I'm still figuring out what to play and what not. I tried building a list today that focuses on attacking and uses the HWK-290 to boost my damage output through distributing focus tokens so the other ships can take different actions:

Kyle Katarn 21

-Moldy Crow 3

-Recon Specialist 3

-Ion Cannon Turret 5

Ello Asty 30

-Weapon Guidance 2

-R7-T1 3

-Munitions Failsafe 1

-Advanced Proton Torpedoes 6

Leaving me with 26 points to spare. I thought about three possible combinations: take one more T-70 X-Wing with "Red Squadron Veteran", or "Garven Dreis" to pump my focus game even more, or even to take 2 "Tala Squadron Pilot"s Z-95s. I'd really like to hear what you guys have to say about this, or if this list is any good or utter rubbish.

Thanks in advance!

I would drop the advanced proton torpedoes and munitions failsafe give Kyle a twin laser turret, and then make the last ship

Jake Farrell (24):

A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Push The Limit (3), Adaptability(0), Proton Rockets(3), and Autothrusters (2).

Jake and Kyle have natural synergy with Kyle's ability to pass him a focus and then Jake to perform multiple actions off of that with his ability and Push The Limit. You could also add adaptability to both of the other pilots since their EPT slots are open, which would allow your pilots to all fly at pilot skill 6 if you are facing a list of all lower pilot skills.

Another good option would be Biggs with any 1 point droid, preferably R4-D6 if you have it, and Integrated astromech for 26 points.

Thanks abell19! That sounds really good, thank you for the advice, I'll give that a try next time I'm playing! Though I don't posess any copies of "Adaptabily" since I don't play any scum ships, which proves to be bad now.

Ello is best with BB-8 and Push the Limit. It is also incredibly fun to fly him then.

A list like the following might be a bit more competitive:

Ello: PTL, BB-8, Autothrusters

Jake: PTL, A-wing Test Pilot, Vet Instincts, Char Refit, Autotrhusters

Kyle: Vet Instincts, TLT, Recon Specialist, Moldy Crow

Good Luck!

Thanks for the input Fozzyman! That's a list I can try out immediately, thanks a lot!

~LIST~

Excellent list.

Jake and Ello are fun pilots to fly. You'll probably find your HWK on the bad end of focussed fire to more experienced players, but I wouldn't let that discourage you.

Enjoy!

Best of luck! Let me know how it plays out.

For 26 points, you cannot go wrong with Biggs with a 1-point Astro and integrated Astro.
