Annoyingly broken combo deck

It doesn't work in solo at all, but if you want to drop your buddy's deck down to 0 threat, this is for you. This deck works well paired up with the Aragorn series of decks just put out by 13nrv (among others).

I did know about that, but I think that the combo will still be viable after that nerf. It won't be completely insane bonkers, but it will still be pretty good.

Mmm, you're not the first to say that. Threat manipulation will always have potential, but I am a little skeptical about how viable it will still be. I haven't gone through and crunched the numbers though. Few would be happier than me if it still does solid work!

Instead of obliterating threat to 0, it'll just be a very good threat management combo.

Caleb says he's going to limit it to once per phase, but I think if they playtest the errata they'll realize it needs to be once per round to not be broken.

...or they'll just delete the card from the game : Errated - Song of Earendil : remove the card from the cards pool. Have a nice day.

I tend to think once per round is enough of a nerf to remove almost all incentive to play Wandering Took and Song of Earandil anymore. (See also: Lore, Master thereof.)

(It's also a big blow to a lot of the non-song-related-shenanigans reasons to play Wandering Took. It's really useful to use the Took during questing or travel to fix threat in advance of the encounter phase, then still be able to send the Tooks where needed to help out during the combat phase.)

I think the biggest problem with Took/Song is the ability for all four decks to operate in secrecy simultaneously. (And Valour, too, if they feel like it, though there are fewer compelling Valour cards that you're going to go out of your way to build around.) And once per phase will definitely put a hard stop to that.

Wandering Took-Song of Earendil is still my favorite "stupid" combo in the game. Enjoy it before Caleb drops the hammer!

How does one errata a card in a cooperative party game with no organized play structure whatsoever?

if the players find an unintended combination from the player cards that increases the power compared to encounters, it trivialises them. it also completely ruins the baseline the developers use to gauge quest difficulty. granted, many players strongly disagree with some of the official ratings anyway, but that's another topic
