And if you can, would you be able to:

1- Remove just one stress

2- Remove both stresses

You can trigger Jek Porkins's pilot ability for either or both of the stresses from Rage. You might wind up taking no damage, one damage, or two damage, depending on how you roll and whether you decide to go for the second one.

Just like damage Stress is still one at a time so Porkins can use his ability each time.

So I could remove 1 stress roll one die

and then, depending on the die roll, decide to remove another stress and risk another roll

correct?

Correct.

That's the way I understand it to work.

You decide if you can hold it or not.

One thing to keep in mind though is that the way the ability reads, you are dealt the damage card even if you have shields.

It doesn't say anything about dealing damage. It just talks about dealing cards.

I only mention this because saying "the way the ability reads" implies that what happens is wrong and that you think it should deal damage and that is the way it should be played. It has clearly dealt cards and cards don't care about shield tokens.

Sorry, I said "the way the ability reads" to mean that it says deal a card and not everyone catches that particular wording and just thinks about taking damage and will incorrectly try to just remove a shield. This is especially true for new players, so I wanted to make sure and point out what the card says. Apparently I should have quoted the card instead of saying what I said.

Busker's Law:

I can't help seeing the thread title and imagining Porkins seething away in some afterlife going, "Dammit, I wasn't all right, I should have ejected..."

That's an interesting idea - I'd never thought of using him with Rage. Certainly cheap!

Yeah, me neither. But I kind of like it. Wouldn't be incredibly competitive but I might give it a whirl one week at the FLGS.

I guess it is a question of Rage or PtL. With Rage you use your Action for a Focus, the unrestricted ability to reroll upto 3 dice in an attack, and pick up TWO Stress tokens. With PtL you Focus and then could use PtL to TL with only one stress but costing two points more. Porkins may be able to eat the Stress but that is risky.

Yeah, it really just comes to whether or not you think an extra stress is worth two points...
