Surely it should be spelled "Lawbstah" ?
Intensify Forward Firepower XXIV: Eatin' Lwabstah
Nice paint jobs, btw! That how Gozantis and also the Transports should look like in the first place when you buy pre-painted products. Not only slabbing some wash on. Slabbing wash on is no prepainting.
Any pictures of your 'conversions' with flotillas and fighter models?
Those are going to be pretty common. Take a standard flotilla, place it one one leg of a standard squadron, and mount that on the Flotilla base. Or mount a single flotilla opposite a squadron tree. Look awesome, especially when said flotilla has attack dice. Gives a source for that attack.
I got to my mention. Thanks Verch, thanks. . . .
Great episode, very in depth discussion of the current gameplay and struck very close to some of my recent experiences.
I'm not yet at the same point on the interdictor as you guys though. While I have had fun with but not yet decisively used grav shift reroute, I think the "in game" effects of target scrambler and G8s are usable in any scenario and can be quite powerful. For example the other night I would have had two AFs cold laid out for my ISD but they were able to speed 3 just out of my front arc and away. For me, that was a case where G8s would have been decisive.
Also the current TR90 strengths - do you think G8s would be a threat here?
Thanks Ophion! Sure, but even in your example- what would you be giving up in your list for the Interdictor?
Played a tournament with Dano over the weekend- lots of Interdictors! 6 total, but that's cause one guy ran a 3-Interdictor list. I think most people found them helpful, but I don't think anyone was wildly into them. Again, I think something is going to tip them over the edge.
A single G8 might be a threat if you have something that can capitalize on it like keeping a TR90 in an ISD's arc for sure.
Great podcast again guys, and well done to Steve for winning NOVA. Takes some skilful flying.
I think the Interdictor is a great ship, but needs to work in a support role to the rest of the fleet - in my case, a tanky flagship that uses G8s/tractors to tee-up targets for the ISD-1 or GSD in my list to knock down. Pound for pound it will lose in a straight fight with a VSD, but that isn't what the Interdictor is there for. It's about trapping those slippery opponents in your best arcs for your other ships and squadrons, and blocking Demo/MC30s from hitting back through targeting scramblers.
But you are right, the Interdictor is all about the upgrades.

I think the problem is related to something I have discussed before: tanking hits is what the Interdictor is best at, and tanking hits alone does not win you the game.
I will say this: I think there are potentially some very good lists with one Interdictor using a targeting scrambler, and that's because the inclusion of said ship makes you far more able to joust with anything that wants to fight you at close range.
again...it's the "Blue" deck option. I like it as that.
You guys kinda touched on this, but I'm going to make this prediction now. Before Corellian Conflict, the Interdictor will be sort of meh because there aren't enough board control objectives. However, there will be at least one board control red objective that will make good Interdictor lists an effective strategy.
I think you are right, and it would really be cool. The guys mentioned an idea that I think would make perfect sense for the tournament seasons. Have seasonal objectives to shake up stale metas
(still listening) In response to Drunk Tarkin and the idea of Rebel fleets with everything, I have a list that's been effective lately CR90, MC30, Neb, and GR-75s. It definitely looks like the Battle of Endor going into battle, just without any MC80s.
Great cast, but you guys kill me when you praise all these other games. I have a NYC apartment guys, space is at a premium! I want to keep my wife!
Needs more butter
And bacon. Everything is better with bacon.
Sorry Mad! Although that means you should probably rent some sort of sweet gaming co-op with Baustin. Please make sure there's room for a DT cot under the gaming table.
Edited by DrunkTarkinand don't forget to put up Yankees memorabilia whilst in Boston.....

I like the G8 because it is an absolute effect - whatever the tokens, commands etc the defending ship wants to employ, as a minimum you are reducing their speed by 1. So no matter what an assault frigate does, he is only going at speed 2, etc.
As oppose to konstantine and tractors which, while definitely useful effects, can be negated fairly readily with a bit of planning.
finally listening...
Congrats on the NOVA win.
as for accents... I came for Armada... I stay for Dano's accent..... its wicked thick
For the record, I got to see the tub in person. Nice candle collection!
