Intensify Forward Firepower XXIV: Eatin' Lwabstah

By WWPDSteven, in Star Wars: Armada

I know connivingmole beat me to the punch but for complete-ness I decided to double post! Ignore, delete, complain about, or report me to your congressman as you see fit! Also, shoutout to Brad- we recorded this last night! Such a quick turnaround! I am at a conference in Boston right now, apologies if my recording quality wasn't up to par.

In Episode XXIV: A Cah Pahks in the Doah Yahd, Dano, Skyshuffler, and DT have lost the mysterious bounty hunter Easy somewhere between the aft and fore taints of the Flesh Star Destroyer. In his place, the dot matrix printing R1H4 sits at the conference room table. The crew talks about recent tournaments, upcoming events, and of course their thoughts on all the new toys with a few (dozen in some cases) games under their flesh belts.

In all seriousness, thank you. I love listening to these on the long drive to school.

Aw well, I felt bad for preempting you, but was just too excited for some fresh long drive entertainment.

So many lols... congrats again on your tourney win Steve... I often think about whether a ship is either a first player ship or second player ship or both... I think one of the reasons you did so well as second player is because the trc90 plays really well as second, whereas some black dice ships may not play as well going second... cheers

The thing we are missing is that if fleets have to nav to deal with Konstantine, then they arent issuing squad commands.

His place is the trip vic rhymer balls

@Conniving- no problem man! I'm glad you enjoyed :)

@Skycake- Thank you! I think the TRCVette is so flexible it doesn't really mind where it goes in activation as long as it's been positioned well.

@Ginkapo- I think your hypothesis is worth exploring... however I don't think Squadron Pushers care much- they'd just not bother navigating and not really suffer for it. That being said, speeding up Yavaris has been one of the big pros out of Konstantine for me. Pull that thing in and knock it out!

I do think he could do work with trip vics. I haven't been able to make it work just yet, but I think that has merit.

Yeah, sounds to me like the robot overinvested in the tractor effects. Konstantine alone is powerful enough, then to leverage him you invest in efficient killy power that trades speed for efficiency (read: VSDs).

agreed with ard... kon, g8, slicer is what is working for me in keeping ships pinned... also, you sort of need a fighter screen or a way to deal with squads, or you're dead

I think that Konstantine will be mainly played by VSD/VSD/Int, ISD/Int and double ISD lists.

That depends on a list. I experimented with Konstantine in ISD/Int list and I think that one want to have at least one tractor beam to start slowing target down into a kill range.

Oh sure, I'm not saying you should only use VSDs with him. My favorite list I've used him in was IVV, with a tractor on the ISD. I'm just saying the slower ships are where he makes his money.

sounds like the games were good and close. I can't make a mocking commentary on that.

I made it in the podcast! I can now die happy. Especially after that sonic boom of a high five from Steve at NOVA. I should have never turned that guppy towards those cr90s.

Sweet, thanks for the shout out :D

P.s. Yes, it was Adrian ;-)

P.p.s. Although I haven't got round to it yet, I still have plans to do a "We Be Greeble Hauling" graphic at some point too

@Tyrant- that high five is still echoing through the halls

@54NCH32 - right right! Tyler did the MC80 M'Lady of OK Cupid. So many good ones, guys! Made our days.

Any pictures of your 'conversions' with flotillas and fighter models?

Alternatively, I tried just the right amount! Thanks :)

When I use the insert image dialog, it doesn't like it if it doesn't end in .jpg!

That's why you need to go to the link, and hit "Copy Image Address" if you're on Chrome, or whatever your equiv is, and then paste, that, since that will have the .jpg link...

With FB, it still has a bunch of crap after it, but it parses it.

With Wiki Links, you gotta delete it.

Word- I didn't realize it parsed out the arguments and junk after the extension from FB. Thanks homie!

Steve, if you are ever up in NoVA at like Island or something, I will have to stop by.

Thats amazingly atmospheric. Its like a small convoy on a base. Good job. :D

@Matt- I rarely am up in NOVA unless it's a tournament! But I'll keep my eyes open for any :)

@TheRealStarKiller you could almost say its like a... flotilla?

... almost ^^

Needs more butter
