Have you ever built that PERFECT list! Just absolutely amazing and perfect! You are certain it's going to turn heads! And then realize you have no commander?!?!?
Do you have a "Have you ever" of your own?

I built an ISD, Avenger and Overload Pulse list and though Id wreck everyone with it....till i read the combat rules again :V
Yes haha. A couple of times I've looked over a list and gone "wow, how have I fit all that in?..." *notices lack of commander* DOH!

Yes. It drives me nuts. I think you should be able to roll without a commander.
No, I'm always building either Flagship-First, or Flagship-following Important ship First...
I often hope FFG will release a set of Commander-in-training upgrades for just these (sad) occasions. You know:
Commander Darth Fred
5 points
During an attack, a friendly ship may suffer 5 damage to change 1 attack die to any side.
Jr Commander Ensign Elkowitz III
-4 points
Your maximum squadron deployment range is 1 instead of 2.
whatever..
EDIT: Darth Fred: 2 to 5. Sith Lord to student
Edited by ThraugThe force is strong with Darth Fred...
Darth Fred would realistically be ~ high twenties commander. You can take two shield damage to change a die face to ANY face, depending on situation?! It's Screed on roids!
All the time crab all the time

Hell yeah. Couple of days ago. My lovely Screed Redux. It was everything I wanted and needed it to be. Until I discovered it had no Screed. So sad ![]()
I personally feel that this game needs an relatively inexpensive generic admiral. Something between 10-15 points that is not unique, but you can only have one of. The one thing that bugs me about this game is how a relatively small fleet always seems to be led by a named character. I used to play warhammer fantasy, and while I am getting so much more money's worth from Armada, at least I was able to kit out a bunch of generic lords and hero characters that I could give a name myself.
Edited by BrikhauseNever have I ever.......had the perfect list build ever.
showed up to a tournament with the perfect (back in the old days) 300pt list.
when I double checked the points before the first round I found out it was the perfect 320 point list ![]()
They could do the same as Star Trek Attack Wing.
Have O point Commanders that don't do anything. They just fill the requirement.
In Attack Wing you need a captain on each ship and there is an option for a 0 point Captain with no skills.
You know, I wanted to have a set of Ships with names and common upgrades...
... So I named my ships.
I even "named" the Admiral of my Fleet, and then basically just used Garm, and wrote a little backstory that basically explained that he was mentored by Bel Iblis, which explains the fact he basically uses his ability...
...
Then we lost the original painting forum and I havn't found the post on its individual merits yet.
