Asajjiroo

By klapa86, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hello everyone,

I tried to replace Dengar with Asajj to exploit the mechanics of the game Shadowcaster, what do you think of this build? It might work?

Asajii Ventress (47)

PTL

Ketsu Onyo

Black Market SLicer Tools

Shadow Caster

Gyroscoping targeting

Manaroo (52)

PTL

Plasma Torpedo

Seismic Torpedo

Gonk

Unhinghed Astromech

Feedback Array

Punishing One

Guidance Chip

Thanks!

I would argue that Asajjiroo would probably look more like this:

Asajj Ventress (37)
Lone Wolf (2)
Zuckuss (1)
Glitterstim (2)
Glitterstim (2)
Gyroscopic Targeting (2)
Shadow Caster (3)
Manaroo (27)
Push the Limit (3)
Recon Specialist (3)
Unhinged Astromech (1)
Rigged Cargo Chute (1)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Punishing One (12)
Total: 100
The point of Dengar is that he gets unlimited use out of things without needing to do actions. Lone Wolf will help multiple times in a round if Manaroo is off in her corner, Zuckuss can be used on every shot, and Overclocked R4 means you have a near endless supply of focus tokens, even if you bump.
We can kind of simulate Overclocked R4 by taking 2 Glitterstims for the turns where we'll need extra focus help. We can get around the need for actions as it pertains to the mobile arc by using Gyroscoping Targeting, which means we never have a full 360 arc, but we do ignore autothrusters in two directions with the opportunity to pass out stress. Also, our friend Zuckuss needs to be in the crew seat, because that's half the point of Dengaroo.
What's the downside? Well, there are two fairly big downsides; 1) the Countermeasures card which we formerly thought to be garbage is actually good in Dengaroo, and Ventress doesn't have room for it if we need to take Gyroscopic Targeting. 2) Dengar gets to attack twice per turn if you're jousting the enemy in your arc, and Ventress only gets to shoot once. That's a pretty massive drawback. A third and more minor concern is that we lost out on PS9 and went to PS6, which isn't as debilitating, but it's also not as good as being PS9.
Pretty much the only upside is that Ventress here is much less costly than Dengar, so Manaroo can afford more toys, like the Punishing One title, for example.

Y'know that build might actually work, simply because the lancer only has 1 red maneuver. You'll have to be pretty good with Gyroscopic Targeting (2).

Thank you for your opinion!

I'll try it! ;)

The thing about dengar is that he shoots 2 times to replace 2 ships in a list. Assajj cant do that, and she is ps6, so she may not shoot 1st.
