Jank synergy with some teeth (fickle adopts the U, yet another ship with a ludicrous wingspan)

By ficklegreendice, in X-Wing

Hey guys

So having already throughly explored the ARC, it is time to look forward to our next adventure in hilarious wingspan: the U

the U is a bizarre as hell ship esp given how little we know about it, but there's already a lot of potential for what is basically the rebel lambda

Take a gander at this silliness, for example:

1.) ps 6 "you can be my wingman any time"

Base: 27

Expert handling

Fcs

Jan

Rey

title

+8 for 35 total

"Late game" sorta

Jan and Rey give you two agi with focus and evade when you're alone; not bad

Fcs over sensors for punch and because your late game isn't that great

eh is more for the novelty. Personally like repositioning but you could replace it. If you have room EU is probably more effective as it lets you run away to turn around and it doesn't stress you (why doesn't his ability work on himself :(?)

2.) Biggs

R4d6 or r2d6 adapt (ps 4/6 to match one of the Us)

IA

(26)

It's biggs

3.) another U - ??? Points

Fcs

Jyn (the jank! Biggs with JynJan!!!)

Gunner

experimental (hello wingman, my old friend)

Title

+ 12 points

35 + 26 + 12 = 73 points; 27 points to spend on your base U

The ps 6 wingman is 27 and the most expensive, SO YOU CAN HAVE ANY U YOU WANT

The jank)

The list is super positioning dependent as the trick is to drown Biggs in Jyn focus and an evade from Jan

Thanks to EI, using Jyn on your other U will NOT cost you offensive modifications :D

So you get a tanky biggs with a few very powerful probably fully modified attacks!

Of course, formation flying with two large bases is a recipe for disaster (though luckily FCS Rey and Jan don't need wingman"s action in order to work

and also of course, if the U gets a lambda dial *re no white turns,* this list is absolutely DOA

But it could be hilarious

Just remember to set your titles to their upright landing position and keep your arms and legs within the Biggs bubble at all times :D

Subtle trolling: pin the U's wings in it's widest position, set it at one peg high, and refuse to remove it from the base or change its height after you enter the scrum.

Man i exhausted that trolling with no peg Ks AGES ago

I'm looking forward to trying out Ghost/U/Biggs.

Lothal Ghost with usual load out (FCS, Autoblaster, Hera, Chopper/whatever you have points for) plus tactical jammer.

U (probably one of the cheaper pilots) with Jyn, Jan, FCS and Jammer.

Biggs with R4-D6 or R2-D2.

Biggs gets a buttload of focus and an evade from Jyn and Jan, and the U and Ghost cover enough area to guarantee that obstruction. With regen Biggs is going to take a long time to go down, meanwhile you have two FCS boosted attacks coming in from tanky ships that'll take a lot to kill if/when Biggs goes down.

4UZ or go home.

4UZ or go home.

So... Much... Wingspan...

If it don't fill the set up area it ain't worth flying. ;)

I just hope it has at least Y-Wing, preferably better, maneuverability. If it's as sluggy as a Lambda it just won't be worth flying in a Rebel list. Because if you aren't carrying Palpatine around you better be able to fight.

I highly doubt it can K due to the landing portion of its title

But I'd be alright with a Y dial, seeing as how every wingspan ship so far has gotten basically that

Also, 2 green bank = cautious optimism

one thing I did realize that sucks is, unlike its similarly spanned cousins, the U doesn't really have a good regen option

both TLT Miranda and r2d2 Norra are powerful late game ships capable of outputting an incredible amount of damage (miranda either through bombs or missiles; Norra with ability) but the U just doesn't have that option :(

its got two agility and, with jan + rey, basically TL + focus + evade. Don't think that makes up for the lack, though, esp with half points MOV for large base ships

Piffle I say. Who cares about MoV when you have the instant moral victory of wingspan. :D

Until we see the dial we really don't know where the U-Wing fits.

Almost nowhere the wings are too big in either orientation.

:V

nonsense

wings are never big enough!
