Playing the 'meta'

By Evil Doctor T, in X-Wing

I liked the first 3 posts in this thread. I think he should play to win but also play for fun. It makes sense, winning is fun.

You can make most ships into winning lists. There are lists that are bad but if you enjoy a ship there is a way to get it into a winning list.

I have won tournaments with M3A's

Practice is also in my opinion more important then having a meta-list, if you know your ships well and how they perform against other lists then you should do well no matter what you fly.

Lastly... its a game fly what is fun to you, if you don't fly something you find fun then what is the point? I like winning but i like having fun more.

Double sabine bomber K-wings with Biggs just placed top4 at the Nova Open if I'm not mistaken. Sabine crew has arguably made bombs viable in the current meta. So go ahead, fly 2x K-wings with Biggs. You will definitely win games and have fun. Conner nets are just that good.

What is the exact list?

Seems super fun.

I would say that if you are pretty good with the 2 K-wings then that should be fun and throw a wrench in many players plans.

I know that dropping mines on imperial aces is rough

It would seem the opinion is weighted towards not taking a meta list unless it's enjoyable

To be honest this was how I was leaning anyway, my only concern was that at a regional level event I would just get badly beaten all day, don't get me wrong, I don't mind losing, but it's a much better experience if it's a close game

I like the nova list, might have to tinker with mine a bit
