So can you deploy Han on an Asteroid?

By Crabbok, in X-Wing

I don't think there would be any negative penalty for deploying the new Han on an asteroid right? He's not "landing" there, and as long as his front is past the obstacle he'll be fine.

Granted your opponent will likely try and make you bump - but maybe that'd be a good bait?

I think you are right

Han will lure out a giant space worm to eat nearby enemy ships!

No time to discuss this as a committee!

I'll let Luke answer this one.

I don't know of anything preventing this from happening. I also has this thought but was unsure what any benefit would be.

Maybe its the perfect place to start of with a 3 turn and drop a debris field in front of the entire enemy list :) ! **** Han is going to be a scoundrel!

There's nothing preventing it in the text. Unless there is a space slug token in the future.

This is only the beginning of New Old Han shenanigans.

And he still shoots first.

Add Sabine and EI. Drop both a debris and a conner net.

Cost Effecitve? Not really. But that's a giant screw you that's worth running strictly for the lulz.

If you were to place him so that his front guides were clear but the closest point between him and an enemy was not then it could be useful. Not sure how useful since you'll be moving off of it anyway. Extra AG round 1 is pretty useful so I expect this to happen. Keeps Quickdraw from firing at you before combat too...so sure! Why not. I think I'll do it most of the time just because I Han.

Remember the force awakens

The hyperspace approach landing on starkiller base wasnt the smoothest, but it also didn't seem to bother the falcon much

This is the entirety of the rules regarding placing ships:

Place Forces : The players place their ships

into the play area in order from lowest pilot skill

to highest pilot skill. If multiple ships tie in pilot

skill, the player with initiative places his ships

with that pilot skill first. Ships must be placed
within Range 1 of their player’s edge.

Obviously, Han breaks that last part, but that's it. Nothing that would seem to preclude placing Han on top of an obstacle, provided it was beyond Range 3 of an enemy ship. Heck, technically, there's really nothing there that prevents you from starting off with your own ships on top of each other.

The ties would have moved first though. So you might drop it on them. Then if only you had the range to shot it with the Siesmic Torp.

Could you kit out both him and Miranda sufficiently with enough points available so she could slam in and seismic torp it, then slam past and bomb them further?

Range one shots with focus? Yes please!

You might be able to do a 3 straight then advance slam and get the torp off. But she doesn't have an EPT to take VI. Han would drop the debris after her. Unless you adaptability him and make him a PS8 as well.

the debris thing sounds nasty but at range 3 if your opponent hits that wow hes an idiot he has SO MUCH ROOM to dodge it.

That being said, it will probably break formations instantly. So theres that bit of usefulness.
