Slam with advanced sensors

Hi everyone.

I'm wondering how does slam work with advanced sensors since you haven't performed a maneuvre yet does this mean you can't slam?

Hi everyone.

I'm wondering how does slam work with advanced sensors since you haven't performed a maneuvre yet does this mean you can't slam?

The slam action explicitly states that it cannot be used outside of your normal action step.

EDIT: My mistake. Can't SLAM as a free action. You can't do it at all.

The rules for SLAMing specify that it cannot be done as a free action, it has to be your one action in the perform action step or not at all.

"Immediately before you reveal your maneuver, you may perform 1 free action .

If you use this ability, you must skip your "Perform Action" step during this round."

Nothing happens, because you can't SLAM using Advanced Sensors.

Yep. Just had to go double check the cards. AS doesn't use your normal action early, it grants a free action and skips your action step, so you simply can't do it, period.

As mentioned they do not interact.

SLAM can only be used during the Perform Action step as it can't be a Free Action.

Advanced Sensor give you a free action but then require you to skip your Perform Action step. Note that this is why it is a horrible upgrade for Darth Vader because if the AS is used he only gets ONE action instead of the two he could normally perform during the Perform Action step.

probably the reason they disallowed free action slams is because of something like this:

"well, what maneuver did i just perform?"

If you went with the last actual maneuver you performed even if it was the last turn, you could slam then move at a different speed. Which would completely break what that card is thematically trying to do lol

Thx guys
