If anything, hobby guys can be happy about T-70s with BB sculpts so you can make your own and a different Falcon as a base for various conversions.

In many ways xwing should be like Imperial Assault, paint your crap, invest your time and put in the work. I understand that many players are way too lazy to do this, so im all for regular paint jobs. but im a little bummed about the engine glow, now its like its pay to have your ships look cool.

And all those intramural league "sportsmen" who don't loom and sew their own uniforms are lazy losers too. If you can't sew, you have no right to play!!!

Perhaps you need to step up your game then. Why settle for a painted engine glow when you can have an LED engine GLOW?

Works for me. I see the FOs coming out of the ship there - I take it that means that the X wing will be permanently attached to the base?

I'm working on something similar for the attack shuttle, but I think I can get the LEDs inside of the ship, so only the wiring/battery/resistor would be external... and the battery/resistor fit under the base. Wiring I plan on making it someway magnetic to make it detachable.

But I'm very interested in how you did that with the X wing so I might copy it one day..

I get it, black orange Poe sells models, so does engine glow falcon. Seriously though, if you can't paint it you shouldn't play it. FFG is trying to get the hobby out of the game. This is by far the worst expansion for hobbyists.

I'm sorry but I got into this game because of prepainted miniatures. Your comment 'if you can't paint it you shouldn't play it' has cost more sales at LGS and turned plenty of people away from good games. There are hundreds of miniature games that could use painting. And nothing is stopping you from repainting this.

But you telling me I shouldn't even play the game is a bit much. There is room for many to enjoy and yes even play this game both for hobbyists and gamers.

And yes it is a bit of a touchy subject for me. I don't paint, I don't care to paint. And having someone tell me I shouldn't play a game because of that is, well asinine. Sorry if this sounds too harsh but come on!

If you can't build the models, design the rules, draw the art on pilot/upgrade cards, etc, you shouldn't play it.

I don't play Imperial Assault because I don't wanna spend all my time painting. Sure I do the odd repaint here and there, but I really only don't have time for it. I rarely have time to play as it is. So not having to paint my own Black Poe is pretty much a plus for me. Chances are I could do it better myself if I wanted too... but I'm playing X-Wing because its prepainted and easy to get into. vs when I played Battletech and had to spend all my time painting and assembling. No thanks, not the part of the game I'm interested in. I appreciate others enjoy the painting part a lot more than I do, and I love looking at the custom mini's. But I'm more than happy with my stock stuff.

I paint things on the side for myself and friends, and once in a great while to list up on eBay. That Engine glow on the falcon could sure use a dark blue wash across the engine to really bring out that effect (assuming the crosshatching on the engine is molded and not painted). Can't wait to slightly improve things for more "pop" on the table and sweet comments

VERY TRUE!! Orange and black is just a gateway paint job to other colors like pink and purple.
