The Garbage Will Do

the sky is falling - yet again..

Yup, and threads like this reminds me why I stopped posting here nearly as much and why people like VS and others have basically left.

I keep checking the boards but until there's something more interesting then yet another 'Palp breaks the game', 'Scum is OP'ed' and 'New expansion sucks' threads to read... I just don't bother responding much.

I just wonder what changed over time .. is it people who wander off other systems to xwing that overreact? is it just a huge influx in rude people who don't even recognise their "know it all, and know it all better"-attitude is quite offensive that come out of nowhere? are people mushrooms ( :D )?

are there "more mature" boards where one can meet a more civilised crowd? .. do we have the coordinates of that rebel base and how can we keep it secret?! ;-)

This really was the "more mature" board for a long time. The most "civilized" I'd been part of. I don't know anymore. Doesn't feel as heady or serious. More of just a sound off space.

It happens in the lifetime of every message board for a game, particularly MMOs. Things settle in, entrenched ways of thought take hold, strong personalities emerge, and anything that flies against the group-think doesn't settle in very well.

It's kinda opposite here. Here I enjoyed a lot of the old crowd and am sad to hear they're gone and displeased with the mass of spew here lately. Not as much discussion going on here anymore...more "yelling" and "complaining"

Good lord that's a 28 point tie fighter! Empire can't even invest that many points in our fragile little work horse. You are a brave man, and I salute you.

Talk about no shields, all guts, all glory...I applaud!

I've got a feeling Finn will be ideal pick for B-Wings. It is time to dust off E-2 modification card.

Keyan will become ultimate jouster with this crew card. Also FCS makes a nice combo with Finn.

PTL Keyan with Finn and possibly FCS (optional since PTL means you can usually get TL + Focus). 4 Dice primary or 5 at close range so slightly better than HLC. The trouble is that it is very hard to get the reroll on the defense to make use of the extra agility.

A large ship with LW is probably the 2nd best place (after Rey). Trouble is the VCX cannot take an EPT, the Outrider is probably better off with SuperDash (although I haven't seriously looked at the numbers yet) which leaves the Falcon or....

Good point. After reconsideration I think that Ibtisam is a much better pilot for carrying Finn.

Hmm, ok, so you place first at PS 9 before the opponent's ships. Same question. Place him in the opponent's starting zone at range 3 of the ships currently placed, and deny the opponent their planned position of their PS 9 ships? Or can they place their ships within range 3 of Han after he's deployed?

There's no reason to believe that enemy ships deploying after Han would be forced to respect his Range 1-3 bubble.

Question: Can you adaptability Han's PS down to 8, place him in the opponent's starting zone at range 3 of the ships currently placed, and deny the opponent their planned position of their PS9 ships? Or can they place their ships within range 3 of Han after he's deployed?

Also, were there really no mistakes in the article?

Nothing says the can't deploy within range 3. Just he can't deploy within range 3. So I would say yes they can.

Oh Smuggling Compartment works on a YT-2400 too?

That was suspected from the original preview. SLAM illicit upgrade is pretty much exactly what we thought also: 1 use SLAM action on your action bar.

Han Solo doesn't care about traffic laws I guess.

I think Han is the best pilot coming out of the HotR, possibly best card.

I had exactly the opposite reaction. I cant imagine why I would want to use new han over old han or rey If Im going to run a falcon.

I don't know what's with the Finn hate. It's half a damage, with no action cost. If you have TL + f, it's 0.75 extra damage.

Lothal Rebel + FCS + Gunner + Finn. Let's see you dodge 5/6 dice attacks twice in a row!

Its only half a damage if you have a target lock. That would be an action cost. You could use predator or lone wolf, but then youre assuming none of Your other dice rolled blanks

good point brought up on local group FB:

resistance Han makes Dengaroo (especially the "roo" part) cry

Depends on how the deploy. Ive seen dengar in the corner with manaroo next to him facing along the players edge a lot. You put han there manaroo either tries to block him round one, or hard turns and boosts while dengar turns towards han. And if you give manaroo illicit slam you can just vurn it right away to get distance. And while you chase and try to kill manaroo, dengar pounds on you (plus manaroos smaller attacks). And remember that you can zuckuss c3pos evade result.

Han Solo crew card may not be huge only but he might as well be. There is...literally no reason to ever use him except on a ship that cant get focus tokens lol

Cant even say he's a good fallback because unless you happened to not have a focus that turn and rolled a bunch of focus and had a banked targetlock, still wont help much lol. Rather use that slot for Ezra which would only be 1 crit in that scenario but also 1 crit in many, many others.

VCX's with FCS disagree with you fully.

No it doesnt. Ezra crew is better than han crew if youre running hera as long as you have the point to spare.

"The garbage will do" is what they said when TFA was done being put together

Finn is... clever, but not at all what I was expecting. I guess they didn't want to hand out a discounted Gunner-but-only-in-arc effect after all. Welp, sure, whatever.

Rey is a cheaper, universal, Moldy Crow. Or the Focus equivalent of a Comm Relay. Hmm. I guess we should be thankful it's on Rebels, who don't have Whisper? :P

Now I want Jake to pilot something with a crew slot. :D

Rey pilot is the only real thing of interest, New Han is just suicidal.

And fin isn't great which makes me happy I hate that traitor.

You had me at engine glow.

Rey crew is a good universal rebel card and that's good to me.

This thread just reminds me when people first saw palp and said he was over priced and worthless. Should only of been x points and 1 crew slot.

Good times.

A 3 attack dice, 5 agility dice TIE with a reroll and stims. That ain't that bad tbh. Yeah, kinda squish, but hard to get to that squish.

Kind of. If you roll any natural blanks before adding finn's blank die, it does literally nothing for you since lone wolf only rerolls 1 die.

True enough.

Finn is great on the Ghost. But also Rey, she pairs well with Hera crew on a stressed Ghost.

Rey also pairs well on Kanaan

I Hope the Snap.. and the Trick.. and Prow Thrusters and Hotshot Co-pilot and Pattern Analyzer and Mdroid

And the Resistance Smuggler are cool and usable cards. So far Rey crew is alright and the Burnout Slam are the best things in the box.

5 points for Finn seems a bit steep.

seriously, that's a 2 point card

technically, cards that don't do anything by themselves should be 0 points

Yeah, that would be kind of nutso with Threepio and Rey. They are going a bit conservative with him. I mean, do you want another Threepio?

with torp scouts? sure

the falcon's DOA as is; I want something any other ship can use without shooting itself in the foot please

this is shaping up to be a worthless expansion, sadly. the t-70, t-70 related upgrades and epts will have to carry

With respect mate, you need to stop voicing your opinion as if it's immutable fact. You may think it's a DOA worthless expansion; but many won't.

You're of course entitled to your views, but you really should think about the way you phrase them.

Can't wait for the following releases:

Tyderium Lambda for rebels

Stolen Phantom with Rookie One for rebels

TIE/SF With Poe for Resistance.

Finn will be everyone's favorite

No reroll- the reroll becomes the extra die. Still, that's 23 points for 3 attack, 4 defence with an open illicit and mod.

They stole my ability for chewie..... And I was gonna use it for my Pilot ability.

Anyone got theories as to why Burnout SLAM is large only?

I would've loved shoving that thing on a pack of Z-95s, to say nothing of their meatier cousins.

I didn't notice the large ship only restriction for Burnout SLAM. :(

For some reason this bothers me the most of todays revealed cards.

It's so random and arbitrary to make it large ship only.

How befuddling

need big engines, I guess?

more likely it'd just get really annoying

not as annoying as 8 Z-95s with rigged cargos, but probably annoying enough

Totally agreed. If you're OK with Aggressors careening around the map like lunatics (wheeeeee!), and the Shadowcaster being able to do it with a speed 5 large base , then why care about small ships doing it?

Z-95: OK, so you can go for the, um, turn 1 block. That's hilarious, but it's a heck of a gamble.

Kithraxz: What, you were worried Talonbane was going to become somehow useful?

G1A: Same question, though 4LOM might've had some profit to the stunt (Move, SLAM, PTL or something, pass off stress, laugh)

StarViper: ...can do literally nothing funky the Aggressor couldn't do as well.

Thematically, it's senseless - the original SLAMming craft was small based to start with. Mechanically, I don't get it either.
