Digital Game Aides solo playing

By Flying Dutchman, in Star Wars: Armada

Hi everyone,

A while ago I started on a project to make a simple web app so you can play solo. Now it's first release is out and ready for you to enjoy!

It's still an early version so it is recommended to play against only one solo (capital ship) and as many squadrons as you please.

The software is located at www.digital-game-aides.com.

This is also where you can find the feedback form, or you can leave your comments in this thread! If there are any major updates I will also be using this thread to post them.

The way to use the software is to simply fill out all the data presented to you and then press the appropriate compute button for the software to make a decision. Refinement is still needed on every aspect of the software but I wanted to do this based on user feedback. So this is still a very basic version and don't expect it to have the tactical and strategic insight of master Yoda or something.

Also, make sure to read all the notes before posting questions!

Cheers!

I like this. Keep it up!

Sounds good. I'll give it a look :D

...in October :(

Now that is what I call short term planning ;)

Dutchman, what is your definition of "solo fleet" and "target fleet", exactly?

Solo fleet is the fleet controlled by the software and the target fleet is it's target (which would be the human player unless you have two solo fleets fighting each other for some reason).

Ah. So I would just change the name of the computer's fleet to "AI Fleet" and the Target fleet to "Human Fleet"

You can only have 2 ships in the Computer's fleet?

Yeah but it's not recommended since you would have to re-set every field per ship, per move. If you look at my other software (Wings of Glory and Sails of Glory) then you can see there is a selection for several AI vehicles.
It's a lot of work of implementing this, which is not really an issue. The real issue is when I start changing stuff, which I suspect I will since it is an early release, it becomes a big web of code if I implement the "multiple" ship switch buttons.

So for the time being you will have to do with what is in the software already.
