There are a bunch of Summer kits around the Phoenix area right now and stores want to start getting them used.

Desert Sky Games -- Tournaments 9/17 and 10/22 @ 11am
Game Depot -- Tournament 9/8 and 10/13 at 6pm

Imperial Outpost -- rescheduling

Tempe Comics -- Tournament 10/6 6pm

How many players usually turn up for these things in Pheonix?

It varies, usually anywhere between 4-12 players. Recently we have been getting around 8. The regional events up here get around 16 people with very few people from out of state. If you search for Phoenix Company on Facebook we have a group that keeps up with the local scene.

I know that a couple of us would drive down to Tucson if we knew of events down there.

Well shoot. We just had a free to enter tournament and there were only 3 of us. I'll find that group on FB and be sure to let people know when we're having events down here.

Just updated this with the Tempe Comics tournament date. This will be a new venue for us to see how it works out.

I assume a minimum of 3 rounds. That's way too late especially when we'd have to drive from Tucson and back...

Yeah the Thursday night tournaments oddly work for a group of people here. We can try to get in more weekend tournaments for this next go around.

Usually the thursday night tournaments are capped at 3 rounds because it starts getting too late for people or the store.
