Bomber-Miranda, Biggs, 2x Z95

Biggs seems to be making a comeback these days. Sabine Wren seems to have brought K-wings back into fashion. I was always a fan of the Rebel 4-5 ship format and often had good success with Miranda as the go-to ship.

I´m dying to make a bombing list with Miranda (I´m preferring her over Wardens because she´s versatile and has good late-game), but I figure I better place Biggs in there too since Miranda fully kitted with bombs represents a 50 point investment.

So, the list I´m starting off with is:

Miranda/TLT/ExtraMun/Conner/ThermalDet/Seismic/AdvSlam/Sabine 50 pts

Biggs/R4D6/Integrated 26 pts

2x Z95 24 pts

What do you think? Any comments on Miranda´s loadout? Proximity mines instead of thermal detonators for instance?

I've been flying Miranda+Sabine recently too, paired with a Guardian, both fully loaded on bombs. So much fun!

The only thing I'm worried about here is that it is hard to keep Biggs and Miranda flying in formation. One SLAM and she's on her own.

I really like the loadout you have on Miranda currently. I like the thermal detonators more than the proximity mines, especially paired with Conner Nets.

Miranda doesn't combine super well with aslam

Her whole ability requiring a shot thing and all that

As well as conner nets losing effectiveness at higher ps (easier to get blocked easier for "skip action step" to go to waste etc)

Which is why I prefe two ks, drop on reveal for Miranda and ACTION ASLAM for a warden

Z95s feel pretty worthless most of the time anyway

I feel the Z95s might function decently with Biggs behind them. Then they are much more likely to get within range-1 and stay alive long enough to bite.

Regarding Miranda, I see where people are coming from. I have played Miranda in 4-ship rebel squads before and her weakness has been to either get focused early (which Biggs will hopefully help with), or being helpless against Autothruster-ships in the endgame. I´m hoping the bombs will give Miranda some game against autothruster ships (read: Palp-Aces).

I agree with the concern about the points spent on Advanced Slam. Miranda wants to be able to shoot, although I have used Slam frequently in the past to get out of arcs. In that case a focus token (with Advanced Slam) will help if there are still some shots incoming.

An alternative would be to spend the 2 points to upgrade the Bandits to Talas. Then you could use the mod slot on Miranda for Long-Range Scanners.

ficklegreendice knows what he's talking about; he flies Kays more than I do. But I like having Advanced SLAM on Miranda for arc-dodging. It is sometimes nice to SLAM out of arc and then get a free target lock to set up the next round.

Instead of Biggs + 2 Bandits, you could just go with one more big ship. If it presents as much as a threat as Miranda, then your opponent has to decide who to attack first. If that other ship has a crew slot, you can put Sabine on there—remember Sabine affects any friendly bomb, not just one dropped from the ship she's on.

Consider a Lothal Rebel VCX-100. Load it up with ordinance (including a bomb) and Extra Munitions, and your opponent needs to decide which to kill first.
