Ever wonder where the designers get an idea for ordnance loadouts? I found the picture they used for the Punisher. A picture of an A1 Skyraider packing the following:

1 torpedo

2 bombs

12 rockets (missiles)

Not a bad haul for a single seat, single engine aircraft.

FWIW

I'm pretty sure they thought the Heavy Bomber and Interdictor were solutions by dumping more TIE Bomber ordnance pods on a chassis.
