Advance Homing Missiles

Says "if this hits". That means defense may be rolled to prevent the hit right?

YES!!!

The "if this his" means that there need to be uncancelled boom/kaboom results after the "compare results" step where defense dice can cancel those attack dice. Except of course for Lt. Blount who just always hits his target due to his ability even if he happens to roll all blanks.

Generally, any time one player gets to roll attack dice during an attack, the other player gets to roll defense dice.

AH Lt. Blount, the bane of anyone running Stealth Device. Take no damage but still loose SD because you were "hit" even though no damage happened.

I'd like to see Blount as a crew with the same ability. Talk about being OP! As a crew on a K-wing it would be great as long as he was alive.

Had a conversation about Blount the other day and the guy mentioned Advanced Homing Missiles and the fact that with Blount there is no need to roll anything since he "hits" no matter what and AHM says "If this attack hits, deal 1 faceup Damage card to the defender. Then cancel all dice results." Man what a way to start a game, have to take a face up damage card with no possible way to avoid it and oh yeah shields don't matter either. OUCH!

Loosing Stealth Device have nothing to do with damage, even flavorfuly... This as to do with the fact that now you know where the ship is because you tagged it. This is a Steath device and you are not stealthed anymore. This is why Vader Crew or Obstacle don't remove the device. Because hitting an obstacle does not tag you for the ennemy. It does not make you easier to find.

Lt. Bloom seems to have a knack for tagging ship with his attack.

Except for anyone not named Lt. Blount, you have to cause damage to hit (have at least one un canceled "boom" or "kaboom") the ship with SD so it can be much harder to cause the SD to drop normally. Can't say anything "flavorfuly" though.

Not entirely so.

If the only uncelled die is a kaboom you "hit" the target but that kaboom could be pulled to a different ship via Draw Their Fire or similar methods; the target ship is still the ship that is hit even if another ship ends up suffering the damage.

OK, true, that way the ship with SD wouldn't take the damage and still be hit so it has to loose SD but I would argue that damage is still taken by someone so my statement is still technically correct because the attacker still had to "cause damage" to remove the SD from the defender.
