Yeah, the Gunboat is a snubfighter. It was brought into production by the Empire after the Incom defected to the Rebellion and took the X-Wing with them.
The X-Wing was originally going to be an Imperial ship, y'see. (in Legends, anyway).
SWX58 Still missing
Would have been better if the photoshop of the gunboat had the wings coming out of the ordnance pods. Still, a solid A-/B+ for effort.
You see, that was the one thing that gave me a moment's pause for thought when I saw the picture - only three wings, and a cockpit closer in style to the Lambda's cockpit than is normally shown on the Gunboat's artwork and models.
It looks like a redesign / interpretation of the Gunboat, as opposed to a straight copy of the models and artwork already out there.

A nice photoshop, but imho also clearly showing why it probably will not turn up in this configuration. The faction identity is just too weak, too low recognition outside of people having played decades old PC games. And the colouring clearly cries rebels to the happy amateur.

If you say so. Personally I think there's enough design cues to tie it to the
Lambda
Alabaster Space Waffalo that if you remove the red markings, it'll be good to go, and it'll sell by the shipload.
Plus, if the happy amateur isn't aware of the Imperial penchant for white, folding winged ships already, they will be after Rogue One hits.

I am hoping this SKU is for an optional, non-standard, ground game add-on, like Epic.
There's alot of support already built into the game for such ground based expansion. And a fair amount already announced.

I don't really think there is any doubt, at this point, that SWX58 is the Scum epic. Announcement is likely on hold at the moment, as wave 9, HotR, and wave 10 are what FFG wants to really move units during the holiday season we are now in - and in any case, the 'Epic'-scale ships don't sell as well as the smaller (tournament-legal) ships. So I don't expect an announcement of what SWX58 is until maybe late December (post-Christmas) or early January. IE - if there is no possibility of it being on retail shelves before Christmas, FFG isn't going to want to be teasing it and having people hold off on purchases of 9/HotR/10 products that WILL be out, in anticipation of something that won't be.
(At least that's the logic I'm seeing a lot of other manufacturers and businesses in similar verticals taking at the moment - posting previews and news on what will be on shelves before Christmas, holding off on announcements of things that won't be until later. Of course, there is always a remote possibility that it's a stealth release alongside the rest of wave 10 and still unannounced because there is a massive Rogue One spoiler involved...but other explanations seem more likely)

Oh, I'm sure we'll get the Partisan T-65, no doubt. But SWX58 is Scum, and that ship may or may not be.
I mean, no reason the Partisan T-65 couldn't be SWX64 or SWX65, after all...
I imagine we MIGHT find out what SWX58 really is after Heroes hits (or shortly after the Wave 10 previews are all released).

We know that there's an Imperial astromech in Rogue One... which is black. What if the black and white X-wings are Imperial, and the Rebels "liberate" them during the movie (or not)?
