Agent Kallus and the imperial corvette

By Benji1980, in Star Wars: Armada

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if my interpretation of the rules is a bit to good or I'm actually right.

Agent Kallus (think that's the guy, I'm on a train so may have the name a bit wrong)

Imperial corvette

Title card Impetuous

He clearly adds one Die.

Imperial corvette with the 2 black die anti squadron

The title card - does it give a 3rd attack or is it more a mimic of the demolisher. If it allows a third attack which I think it does this could be a great assassination tool.

Impetuous allows you to shoot a third time - at a SINGLE SQUADRON - even out of an arc you've already fired from.

So yeah, if you double-arc something, you could theoretically do 3 x 3-black dice attacks against a single squadron (but remember Kallus only works vs. unique squads).

Add Ordnance Experts or Ruthless Strategists to taste.

And quad Laser turrets. I assume Kallus would give them a counter attack of a blue and a black dice.

I love the AS capability of the Raider kitted out like this, I wish Rebels had an equivalent! I'm looking forward to what the 'Flechette Rounds' will do in the the Pelta expansion.

It sounds really cool to spiff up a Raider in this capacity but I find it hard to make it work out. Getting it on the course where it's both effective against enemy squadrons and not easy pickens for some ship is hard. Ok sure it'll absorb a round of fire that could be otherwise directed at one of your other big ships, but still, it seems to rise in the priority q of targets when it's kitted out for squadrons and if your opponent is counting on his squadrons for meaningful amounts of damage. Why wouldn't they target the Raider, it's not only a threat but reasonably easy victory points.

In this way I kinda wish there was a card for the raider that was Demo like but allowed it to do squadron fire before and after a move. (Maybe restrict it from being able to fire at ships) It would give it some extra nimbleness to get into and out of bad situations.

That. would. be. cool.

O well.

Targeting scramblers?

Why a black? Go fishing for the double hit Red!

For dedicated as, I prefer either Instigator-I or Impetuous-II. The former with OE the latter with RS. And Kallus.

QLTs are optional. And a better fit on Instigator.

For the campaign, where is sounds like perma death might be a thing, I can use it being done. Send him out early to hunt down the uniques. minimal loss if he does die, but great benifit if he does his job.

If perma death becomes a thing in the campaign then players might start appreciating the art of retreat before kamikaze death :D

I'm really looking forward to the change in tactics and strategy that that would bring. Makes it a whole different game!
