Huge sale on CSI!

Buy local, folks. cool stuff inc doesn't keep your game stores lights on for you to actually play the game.

No, but MTG does.

X-wing night is 2-4 dudes (mostly two). Meanwhile, there are 10 tables full of people playing MTG. Even on our tournament days we're outnumbered 10 to 1 by them. I buy from my LGS, but X-wing sales are seriously just a drop in the bucket for them, relegated to the back corner of the store.

*Buys 99% of stuff from LGS*

"Oh, a pretty big sale online. I might have to take advantage of this and get a couple things."
OUTRAGE

yeah i dont 100% buy from my flgs. There are things such as the huge ships i just dont feel like paying full price for because i know theyre mostly just gonna sit on a shelf.

Only reason im fighting the temptation to get a few large ship multiples is because i kinda cant use them except in epic anyway, which large ships generally suck in lol.

Oooooor you can do both. I spent just as much at my LGS on Tuesday as I did on this sale.

Which honestly begs the question: why not just spend it at the LGS? CSI doesn't give you table space, doesn't foster your community, and **** sure isn't buying OP kits.

Telling people how they should spend their money is downright rude. I think everyone here is capable of deciding for themselves how to best spend their money. It is quite frankly, none of your business.

Well, I support the LGS when I'm headed that way if I need to fill in a squad spot in a rushed panic (in my head only), but when I need to create a squad of TIEs, Palpatine, Most Wanted, etc, I'll order whenever sales pop up. Being a newcomer to the X-Wing game, I have had that luxury in sales springing on ships that have been out a while. I understand both sides, and play them both.

If these were on the sale block, I'd probably get sucked into my addiction and order one of each (did I type that out-loud??)

Living in Florida means I have to deal with winds and rain, but it has its perks, too... Like living close enough to Cool Stuff Inc (CSI) to get my package already!

The Tantive IV and core set were from Miniature Market's (MM) back to school sale, and the rest from CSI.

As for FLGS, I buy a ship and/or some merchandise every time I play games there. There's a 30% discount on games if you pay a small annual fee, so I buy most stuff from there when it releases, but I still grab larger items that are 50% off from sales like this.

LGS "vs" online? I do BOTH.

My LGS offers deep discounts if you buy a full set when a new wave comes out ... So points right there.

I am most interested in customizing ships, older ships when I get inspiration... MM just had a sale and the Tantive IV went for $50 ... and sold out in 1 day..... Where CSI has he Tantive IV on sale now and I could not pass that up!

Yes, that "Expensive Tantive". ... I shall buy thee & modify thee into a fast assault carrier no one has ever seen!

That's odd, since I've been playing my X-Wing at CoolStuff, and they've been giving away OP prizes.

This statement makes no sense whatsoever.

The first part is true, I guess. Me buying from CSI does not keep the local game store’s lights on. True, but entirely irrelevant.

Some game store's lights being on has absolutely nothing to do with me playing my game, since the store is not right next to my house, nor do I typically play outside where their lights could shine onto my patio anyway.

I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not, but tables, lights, and even houses can be purchased for one's self. I'm an adult, I have a job, and I have bought these things.

The lights I use are my own, the table is my own, and the house in which these things all reside are my own. I pay to keep my own lights on, regardless of where I buy, so I might as well get the best deal possible.

So get back on your high horse and get off my lawn!

For some of us, buy local is impossible. Unless local includes stores 3 hrs drive away.
