Huge sale on CSI!

By Knucklesamwich, in X-Wing

FA core set for $15.99, that's crazy.

Crazy good deals.

Humpf, $70 shipping. Not worth.

Finally ordered my Raider. Under $63 is a good deal these days.

I missed a few other sales over the years, decided not to pass on this one.

If the cost DOUBLES after including shipping, it isn't a sale...

I didn't have to pay any shipping and still got the items at the advertised prices, so it still counts as a "sale" in my book. Imperial Raiders can't be had for $58 too often, so I would say it is even a "great sale."

Yup, IF you are in the US :)

Buy local, folks. cool stuff inc doesn't keep your game stores lights on for you to actually play the game.

What's another 100 bucks thrown at this silly game...

They always do a sale right after I buy a bunch of ships.

Sad thing is I they aren't selling what I'm looking for at the moment.

I live in Australia, buying from the US always has a high postage cost, whilst anything from the UK (eg Book Depository, which has good prices for x wing) is always free postage. Why the difference?

Oooooor you can do both. I spent just as much at my LGS on Tuesday as I did on this sale.

If I buy another Assault Carrier, then I'm really investing in a net of two extra storage racks for Imperial ships, right?

I would be a fool to pass that up... right?

Which honestly begs the question: why not just spend it at the LGS? CSI doesn't give you table space, doesn't foster your community, and **** sure isn't buying OP kits.

Well, technical that is all done by the local clubs too. Which do this all at the small fee of 40 bucks per year. And you even get a discount on tournaments as club member. ;-)

From that perspective ordering online, saving money and investing it in clubs seems to be more efficient approach.

Alas, our FLGS are top notch, provide me with tons of cool stuff and work fantastic as additional source for all that. It not like paying a little more for your hobby hurts and having top notch warranty support from your retailer is an important thing when you buy ffg miniatures. They are super awesome and cheap, which comes with its own issues … which make retail warranty support desireable.

I don't know for a fact that they hold X-Wing events, but Cool Stuff Inc does have multiple brick & mortar locations.

Source: I used to live down the street from their original store, before they even had an online presence.

It's the flag connection; the terrorists here burned the Union Jack back in 1776...there's always consequences for every action.

They are just toooooooo cool right? I don't even fly mine, but it is getting a lighted display case....and the wife may have to live with it sitting in the dining room on the buffet; I mean, it is where a lot of my X-wing game occur right?

You're preaching to the choir here, bub. I am a firm supporter of my LGS, and I understand things from the store owner side, as I have a friend that runs one in another city. I don't think anyone is going to be offended that I took advantage of a clearance sale.

It's certainly nothing to get all hot and bothered about...
