My TIE Striker

By Odanan, in X-Wing

Odanan could you please make a card for my TIE Crawlers?

Lego made me do it....

This is based on what information we have in the Wookieepedia.

"The TIE Striker was a streamlined variant of the TIE line starfighters used by the Galactic Empire for in-atmosphere engagements and the defense of important Imperial bases. Though designed for atmosphere, it could also function in space and accompany traditional TIE fighters. Equipped with advanced high-speed wings, it was faster than the standard TIE/LN starfighter and had an extra pair of laser barrels."

Things that might change after the release of the movie:

- the lower guns might be a turret (3 attack forward, 2 attack 360ยบ or 2 attack + turret upgrade)

- the ship might be able to use warheads (torpedo or missile upgrade)

- the ship might have a co-pilot (1 crew)

I think you hit the nail on its head.

I could imagine that this is basically the 'imperial fang fighter' with a dial between A-Wing and Starviper.

I think the guns are fixed to the front - or at least I hope so.

I want the Tie Aggressor to be the imperial turret ship.... :D

So from my perspective:

Crew slot + System slot or system slot only.

Why a system slot? Since this design was discontinued later on (we know this :P ) the system slot should reflect the experimental touch of this vessel. Just like the E-Wing.

So the Tie Striker could be something like the imperial E-Wing in good(-ish)

"desperately need" is a bit of an overstatement given the strength of palp aces and defenders :P

but it would be good design space to fill

(2ndary turret mind, not pwt. the game does not need and has never needed pwts)

We have two moves swarm and acewing it would work wonders to have other options.

The other two factions have multiple platforms we have none, we keep losing our tricks it's time we got something back.

So in addition to completely dominating the game as-is, you're telling me Imperials want a turreted ship that has NONE of the downsides of all current small ship turrets, namely low AGI, a lack of a reposition action(that DOESNT cost you your attack) and a poor dial?

Yeah, sounds fair alright.

sad, I like these ideas better :(

Very close speculation! In reality, it's cheaper, less agile, and has barrel roll instead of boost, but a pre-maneuver boost-enabling title ability.

I'm loving the prospects of a super maneuverable ~15 pt 3/2/4/0 ship!

i am SO CONFUSED why the tie striker doesnt have a crew, turret, aux arc, or mobile arc. Or hell even a bomb.

Everything else shows it to be a two-seater, and the elongated chassis screams something is added to this guy compared to normal fighters.

I have yet to see a clear picture that shows a second seat. From what I can figure, from the Lego pics, that the rear hatch leads to an extended engine compartment.

I'm guessing the elongated chassis is for atmospheric engines? Not to apply too much logic to a SW scenario, but ion engines can't overcome air resistance for mass greater than it's own particle, and since these were apparently supposed to be atmospheric fighters primarily, it stands to reasons that they'd have either a second engine system, or some kind of boosted system.

Yeah it's so terrible after three years of rebel domination that another faction would get to be top dog...

Well, I am a bit sad that there's now an imperial version of the X-Wing too. It seems like there's way too many ships in the

attack 3

defend 2

hit points 4-6

cost ~20

category... I really wish it had a fun upgrade slot to differentiate it from the herd.

Imperial X? Can't be the 4 health striker with unique .ca poo abilities and tie fighter action bar

The SF?

Dude the X cries itself to sleep every night wishing it were even a third as cool as the SF

You are aware that it has the sole use of Adaptive Ailerons, giving it a pre dial boost for free? That's pretty significantly different to the herd, and a hell of a fun upgrade.

Edit: wow, the profanity filter really pulls even the most simple emphasising words. That's a little over the top...
