Greedo's timing

By buckero0, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

So, I'm not sure why I have such a hard time with the timing in this game (I think I don't play enough to remember all the rules)

but I had a game where Greedo moved 2 spaces, announced a target, the target rolled his Slow On The Draw dice and I rolled a blank.

He proceeded to do 4 damage and Stun Greedo. We played that because of the Interrupt wording from Slow onthe Draw, Greedo couldn't finish his move, and lost his shot I think, but I'm still hazy and not sure that's what should have happened.

Sounds about right. I think Greedo needs to shoot from far away to avoid that scenario. He has a +1 accuracy and can surge for +3 more. So when your opponent shoots you, he may have trouble making range on his attack, but Greedo can shoot from far with a potential +4 accuracy.

Sounds right.

Although Greedo's attack has already started with its declare target step, dice haven't been rolled yet, so it's fairly certain that Stunned would abort the attack (You cannot attack or voluntarily exit your space).

And in the above case his both actions have already been spent, so Greedo can't remove stunned and continue spending movement points.

so if I had just stayed put and used my first action to shoot, I could have removed the stun with the 2nd action in the same activation, right?

funny, i'd never noticed that he has +3acc, I think I've only used the +2damage if I get a surge through

Yes, and you would almost always want to, to be ready for Parting Shot. While Stunned, the attack of Parting Shot can't be performed.

Really!

Good to know. I don't think I'll forget that for a while and hopefully play him a little wiser in the future.
