Has anyone run double Liberty's? and won? If so how did you kit them out? What tactics did you use?
Thanks in advance!

I haven't run it (yet) but for a double Lib i'm considering something like this....
1 • MC80 Star Cruiser - MC80 Liberty (96) - General Dodonna (20) - Intel Officer (7) - XI7 Turbolasers (6) - Mon Karren (8)
• Total : 137 • Code : r31c2o5t4f29
2 • MC80 Star Cruiser - MC80 Liberty (96) - Intel Officer (7) - XI7 Turbolasers (6) - XX-9 Turbolasers (5)
• Total : 114 • Code : r31o5t4t3
3 • GR-75 Medium Transports - GR-75 (18) - Bomber Command Center (8)
• Total : 26 • Code : r29b0
4 • Y-wing Squadron - Y-wing (10)
• Total : 10 • Code : r9
5 • Y-wing Squadron - Y-wing (10)
• Total : 10 • Code : r9
6 • Y-wing Squadron - Y-wing (10)
• Total : 10 • Code : r9
7 • GR-75 Medium Transports - GR-75 (18) - Slicer Tools (7) - Expanded Hangar Bay (5)
• Total : 30 • Code : r29b1g1
8 • A-wing Squadron - A-wing (11)
• Total : 11 • Code : r13
9 • A-wing Squadron - A-wing (11)
• Total : 11 • Code : r13
10 • A-wing Squadron - A-wing (11)
• Total : 11 • Code : r13
11 • Tycho Celchu A-wing Squadron - A-wing (16)
• Total : 16 • Code : r12
Mon Karen is there to pin down defence tokens and shred enemy ships quick time, the second Lib having XX9s to take advantage of Dodonna. The transports are there to control fighters, slice the bad guys and generally be a nuisance.
I kinda want to try that list.....which means I have to buy another MC80
My gut reaction is that two Liberty fleets and two Interdictor fleets will see diminishing returns. Too many points sunken into two specialized ships. We will see...

No actual experience to speak from, but...
The Liberty specializes in head-on killing of ships. Very different from the interdictor specialization of controlling battlespace. I would compare the destructive power of dual Mc80s to the destructive power of dual ISDs, with both ISD and MC80 threats made more palpable by low-cost flotilla activations. The object of the game is always to destroy enemy ships, supplemented by a situational objective. The MC80 can do both, but the interdictor is more limited in scope.

In what sense is the Liberty a "specialized" ship? I'm not trying to be argumentative, I just don't see that claim substantiated...
I have run dual Liberties and had good success, within reason.
I run them as the cheap version with gunnery teams and leading shots at 107 points. My third ship was a Bright Hope/Torynn/EHB/BCC. Full-ish squads and Madine on Bright Hope.
It has a solid performance profile. The only big loss they had taken was against an ISD/ISD/Goz fleet with a half(ish) strength squad screen. Liberties are very abusive against almost anything, but two Liberties don't hold their own against two tricked out ISDs.
Double Liberties will play very much like Dual ISD lists, except they lack Motti's 14 Hull Points, ECMs, and Rhymer (most dual ISD builds I've seen have run Motti and Rhymer-Ball).
The liberties are cheaper, though, so there's more wiggle room for what you bring with them.

I would say it "specializes" on front arc offense. Whereas the ISD is really good at just about everything, the Liberty is less of a tank/carrier. I see the Liberty as clean-up. What the VSD wishes it could be. They are a lot more fragile than they seem. Having two will put a lot of points on just 16 hull. (I realize that is a lot for rebel scum.)
Edited by CaribbeanNinjaNow, all that said, I think we will see MANY double Liberty lists. Why? They have too many nice cards in the box. People will buy them. When you have two or three ships, you tend to play them more.
I just think that they synergize so well with the current ships. The liberty with Nebs, TRCr90s and MC30s (heck even an MC80?) are just really tantalizing. When Sato comes out I will definitely give them a shot. ( even if Clontrooper's ghost scolds me)
Libs with Madine as admiral and engine techs also make them something very different from being just a delicate ISD/ nippier VSD. A couple of speed four hyper maneuverable Liberties cutting about the space mat would be worrying for anyone.
How about this? (I too am looking to make double Libs a thing):
1 • MC80 Star Cruiser - MC80 Liberty (96) - General Madine (30) - Intel Officer (7) - Engine Techs (8) - XI7 Turbolasers (6)
• Total : 147 • Code : r31c14o5s3t4
2 • MC80 Star Cruiser - MC80 Liberty (96) - Intel Officer (7) - Engine Techs (8) - XI7 Turbolasers (6)

3 • GR-75 Medium Transports - GR-75 (18) - Bomber Command Center (8) - Bright Hope (2)
• Total : 28 • Code : r29b0f26
4 • Y-wing Squadron - Y-wing (10)
• Total : 10 • Code : r9
5 • Y-wing Squadron - Y-wing (10)

Madine can be moved to Bright Hope to allow the Libs to go speed 4 across the board doing hand brake turns into the rear of the bad guys. Int Officer and XI7s will do the rest.
I've just talked myself into buying a second Liberty.
Hyper mobile speed 4 huh? Err. How often you get to use your front arc of you fly fast
Doing Handbrake turns into the rear of the Bad Guys and then slowing down?
Lots.
Onto Butts.
Where they're most effective.
Well what you guys are basically suggesting is the rebel version of pt's regional dual ISD fleet.
So in theory it should work.
It requires light fighter cover as the ships dont have the hull to just eat fire.
Gammon. I would be tempted to drop the ywing and bomber command for a corvette.
Hmm, and have the slicer transport run the Y Wings with the A Wings escorting Libs?

WIth engine techs, you only technically reach speed 4 - in a turn you could go from "speed 4" to speed 2. With Madine's extra yaw that'll allow for very quick alignments on target with the front arc (ideally a double arc for extra win).

Run 5 ship build. Everything around activating the liberties at the right moment. Other three ships for squad fire and spare activations.
I'm tempted to get a second Liberty to try out dual Liberty lists.
However, that would mean I'd need to get another AFMKII to balance out "Heavy Cruisers" with my Star Cruisers, another MC30 and Nebulon B to round out and balance the frigates, 2 CR90s to balance the Corvettes, and I'll still need a ton more GR75 transport flotillas.
And then I'll need to add more Imperial ships to match the Rebel fleet, meaning I'll need an ISD, at least 1 VSD, at least two GSDs, two more Raiders, and lots more Gozantis.
Curse my naval fleet building ways...
Gink, how are you getting 5 ships into the list? The 2 Libs eat up a big chunk of points

3 ywings is 30pts
Bomber command is 8pts
38pts so must be doable
It has a solid performance profile. The only big loss they had taken was against an ISD/ISD/Goz fleet with a half(ish) strength squad screen. Liberties are very abusive against almost anything, but two Liberties don't hold their own against two tricked out ISDs.
I would certainly agree that a Liberty can't really go toe to toe with an ISD. Although you have around the same amount of firepower the lack of defensive options can really hurt. It can get in some really good hits though, especially when supported by the rest of your fleet.

Except a Liberty with Madine, & an ET can get around an ISDs front arc, and over power its side or rear arc 7 dice to 4, or 7 dice to 2 if it is an ISD I.
Not sure why you think it needs to sit in its front arcs trading shots, it has the capability to run rings around an ISD.

Well if we're going to throw commanders into the loop, then let's not forget the upcoming Jerjerod. Double yaw on the first clicker. While the Liberty can swing around and ISD, those ISDs would also be able to turn on a dime and potentially catch the broadside with those front arcs. I really think Jerjerod is going to be a top choice once he comes out (for non-MSU lists).

This is a talk about what is possible now, sure Jerjerod might make ISD's more maneuverable, but at the moment, Madine is in the game, and Libertys can dance around an ISD, without needing to sit in its front arc trading max dice pools with each other.
