Nice things to have:

Boosted comms, especially on Bright Hope, to match the range of BCC. Helps with the AFII's too.

Some Intel to get the Y-wings on target would be good too...a generic HWK would do.

I think the AF as a carrier is a little bit of a point overspend now, unless you are really equipping them to shine or have a plan to Gallant Haven. The Flotillas make such incredible fighter platforms for the cost i just haven't been able to find a reason to take another carrier.

In this case, XI7 and Intel are great ways to ensure the damage you do reaches its intended target, but they do nothing to actually increase your raw damage output. That means you will want the CF dial for the extra dice to get that bump. But then you are going to leave your fighters stranded. It makes every turn a hard choice for you what you want to set your dial at. And if you guess wrong, you could be sunk. You want to force hard decisions on your opponent, not yourself.

Assault Fregate are still great carrier if you plan to use Flight Controllers, they're pretty much the only rebel ship that can take it... Unless you really want to use your Liberty as a carrier.

True, but with X-Wings flight controllers are a luxury. And they STILL have the issue of stealing your dial command from CF to SQ. That was my main beef. If I am putting Intel and XI7 on a AF, I want to use CF and punch hull. Not SQ.
