How does one adjudicate special movement rules with regards to familiars that are clearly present, yet do not have full heroic characteristics?
To give a better idea, last week we played Manor of Ravens with a group of heroes I call Spam. (all heroes and classes with familiars except for the healer, because there are no healer classes with familiars, and no healer heroes with [separate] familiars either)
In the first quest, Vyrah the Falconer was placed on the starting tile and at the beginning of the turn Skye was placed as well. There is a special rule, that allows heroes to move to another area by taking a special action and taking damage. The debate was: could Skye use the special action, even though Skye has not hit points, and cannot suffer damage?
When quest rules allow a special movement action that is necessary and there is a familiar on the board that cannot be removed and replaced by a skill (Brightblaze, Pico and Skye, particularly) would they be stuck there or can they perform the special action?
