What crew and elite on Scum Boba?

Hey Scum!

I am new to Scum and Villainy and I feel lost about two most important slots on Boba's Slave I.

I intend to play it with Autoblaster (as it kind's of support Boba's ability on paper). Please help me with these two:

Elite

Would Predator make sense? Giving you more re-roll for your dice?

Veteran Instincts? Do you really need PS10 with this ship?

PTL is kind of out because of the few greens.

Expose sounds cool but only apply to the primary weapon and you would probably rather shoot secondary.

Crew

Does Dengar make sense? I mean it the same way as Predator.

Gunner maybe?

Greedo would be nice!

Or it is possible that I take whole strategy the wrong way. I just never flew Boba and I really like the character from the movies, comics and books.

I've been running this version of Boba. Getting the homing missiles set up really pushes through damage on aces by locking down focus/evade on aces.

Additionally, when Wave 9 comes out, I plan on trying out "Mandalorian Boba."

Boba with Fearlessness, Tail Gunner (add Autoblaster for a world of hurt - 3 possible hits + 1 from Fearlessness that can't be cancelled).

Boba can get rerolls from his pilot ability, so predator and Dengar are less valuable on him (but definitely not bad). I usually like recon specialist for the crew in order to add some durability. For the EPT, I'd go VI only if you're also using engine. If not, something like crackshot, fearlessness, or push will probably be fine. Not expose...

VI for the EPT.

4LOM for the crew.

Fearlessness and til gunner keep boba lean, and vey mean. He wants to be in range one, so either fly him a speed or two faster than you intend, or buy an engine upgrade. Little less efficient I think, because boba does need his actions to live, and with fearlessness, tailgunner and a helping of range one stuff, he should be able to stay action-free on offense.

If you're using Autoblaster (which many would argue against), you really don't want rerolls as much as you want focus. Focus tokens will turn eye results to hits that can't be cancelled while rerolling those eyes could yield crits that could be cancelled. I think Recon Specialist would be the way to go with Autoblaster because then on both offense and defense you get to reroll your blanks but modify all of your eyes into hits/evades.

Personally, though, I like Boba Fett rolling 4 dice at range-1, so I'm not a fan of Autoblaster on him.

10 points. Expert Handling is the answer on the card.

Push the limit, Recon Specialist and Engine for range control. There are enough greens on the dial to clear stress if you choose critical moments to PTL. I have found it to be a tanky and dependable build.

Most folks would argue Boba really wants Engine Upgrade, and if you decide to take that, you want to avoid upgrades that:

1) Stress the Firespray, which has really limited green maneuvers on its dial.

2) Take an action, which clashes with EU.

3) Grant rerolls, since Boba can generate rerolls himself.

If you take my checklist seriously (which you don't necessarily need to), then the leftover EPTs which seem good for Boba are Fearlessness, Adaptibility, and Veteran Instincts (the PS boosts are even better with Engine Upgrade, allowing Boba to arc dodge). Some strong crew members could be 4-LOM, Tail Gunner, or Gunner — all action independent, and provide a slight offensive boost.

If you plan on running Boba without Engine Upgrade, then I think Recon Specialist is another stellar crew member — the extra focus goes a long way towards helping Boba stay alive, and gives you another layer of dice modification for your attacks.

PTL & K4 work well with EU. Green + Boost + Focus/Evade gives you 2 of the 3 actions, every round. This is true for Kath & the Mandalorian, too.

I've also had plenty of success with VI / Dengar / EU.

I always enjoyed engine upgrade, VI, and tactician. Though i think tailgunner deserves serious consideration if you have acess to it.

Tactician VI.

I rode Sable's Tactician/VI/Engine/Proton Bomb Boba to a 2nd place regionals finish a couple years ago. It's terrific.

You want EU cause Boba needs to be able to move fast and get all up into grills with his super extra dice per enemy. Anything else is just season to taste and tactics.

I second that. VI and Tactician are pretty solid and makes Boba an excellent Ace-Hunter.

Thirded, with the addition of Glitterstim if you can afford it. Some of the newest options might shake it up, but the ability to boost to change arcs at PS10, while boasting Bad News for any ace caught at Range 1 (Rerolls and 4 dice are not their friend) or Range 2 (Have an extra stress, PTL addicts!) can ruin a pilots day.

If Glitterstim were reusable, he'd be an absolute monster - the ability to reroll dice then auto-focus them can be just a teeny bit scary, and makes for great swarm-proofing too.

I've been rolling two scum BH (Boba and Kath) exclusively for a while now and have been running Boba with predator and RecSpec (until tail gunner comes out) Kath with Dengar cause I love rerolls!

Yeah I KNOW, but I worded it to just account for them as extra dice. Not rules ezact but we know how it works. To my mind since It is every time he has to roll it is kinda like he has all kinds of extra dice in every active turn.

I've been using this boba to great effect recently. You can take the evade action, and not care about not having a focus because of rerolls/fearlessness/glitterstim. And 4 lom let's you get past defences much easier, and paired with a homing missle it's just silly. I've had so much success with this since I paired it with asajj with ptl/latts/rigged chute/bmst/shadowcaster title/EU.

My Boba Build is

VI, AutoBlaster, Engine, Inertial Dampeners. At the moment I have gone with Greedo as with the AB Cannon the first hit on an unshielded ship will be a crit.VI is so anyone without VI he will move after and shoot before, can ensure he gets into range 1 of the likes of Soontir Fel. ID is there in case someone gives him an opportune shot.
