Some Rebels Questions From Season 2

By venkelos, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Ok here's a couple of questions from the show. In the episode with the space whales (yea space whales) Ezra and Kanan parry attacks from those modified Ties. Later Ezra cuts one of those Ties wing off with his lightsaber. Can both those actions be done with the rules or is that just a narrative thing. I notice Jedi parrying vehicle blaster fire in different media all the time.

Considering the amount of damage done by vehicle weapons, I'd call it narrative. The Ties bear down on Ezra and they miss and you just describe it as Ezra blocks the blast with his saber. Being as how one point of vehicle damage is 10 points personal damage a single hit is enough to kill most PC's.

They do it elsewhere too. Typically this is just considered a narrative flourish on the vehicle failing the check.

This can be done. Unlike personal combat, vehicles can be Critted without inflicting hull trauma. You only need to exceed the Armor and otherwise get what you need to crit. When you consider that a saber has breach 1, crit 2, and can be easily modified for more damage, and a TIE has Armor 2 and usually a minion pilot, it's quite viable for an attack to beat the armor, crit, and thus remove the minion controlled vehicle from play.

Ghostofman I didn't think of it that way, that's good. You're right in that those pilots would be minions. Thanks.
